Franks had already been told he wasn’t staying hence him sorting a move back to Iceland. But hey the truth is rarely interesting. He said so himself Yes, I know. One thing most footballers are not blessed with is ? ? ? ? Remarkably quick deal struck with the Icelandic team eh... Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.

Hartlepool release Blair Adams, Luke George and Rhys Oates. Doesn't take a genius to work out where he will be heading.

Please god no, i watched him have a shocker against Kidderminster, went 3-0 down inside 30 mins. Not the type of player we should be after at all, too old, too slow and mates with the coaching staff. Stay well clear!!!

Stay well clear!!! Nice that you're basing your assessment after watching him ONCE. He's a no frills, solid defender that helped make us more solid at the back after he joined in November. Yes he's old and slow, but his experience could be just what you need next season, especially if paired with a more inexperienced defender.

Had a few of those already and it only worked once, and that was when the inexperienced one was Sam Hughes, and they don’t come along every day.

Hmm bernard and jonno released him from Salford in order to win the North title, but he could be a cheap back up CB option

Salford sign Danny Whitehead after the player rejected a new deal at Macc They've also signed a lad from FCUM. Whitehead and Pond signings show they are obviously going to try and go for promotion at the first attempt.

That would be the John McCombe who was a mainstay of Harrogates push for promotion and ultimate success in the play-offs.

Wow, what we'd give to be in Salford position. Can't help but be a little jealous. Owners yes, but ones that almost guarentee they wouldn't turn their back on the club. Fair play to them, seem to be building a real contender..

Bradley Barnes returning to Chester, looks like it will be the duos first signing Bring it on! He was class the first time round, I know that was 2 leagues lower but Young froze him out. He could be real useful just for his fight alone, that’s what we’ve missed so badly.

Must be late 20s now I guess.

Get on the phone to Trashmere and replace one overweight centre half with another. McNulty won't hack it in the EFL but would make a great captain supervising the younger players that the managers propose to bring in. Maybe not the nibbliest of layers but reads the game so well he's nearly always in the right position.

Wes York signed for, er, York. Always rated him highly - looks like York are going for it next season. Also signed Jordan Burrow.
Anyway, on that basis, I look forwards to the arrival of James Chester at the Deva and for trivia buffs are there any other players who have lined up for teams that share their surname?

To me York are signing players that have been good in the past but aren't consistent enough to stay in a team, so jurys still out. York is a good player but he's so hit and miss. I personally think we look into the past a bit too much as fans. Like others i find myself thinking Barnes would be a decent enough signing, but then i think, well i've not seen the last in years....same as probably most others saying the same as me. We don't really know in truth.
