Had every chance to come to Chester. Didn't fancy it.Would I have Ricketts and Barrow instead of Johnson and Morley? Currently probably not, but I guess time will tell. The way we've gone about our business has been professional and almost surgical. Draw a line, move on, sincerely hope they are both on the dole by Christmas. First I read about the appalling Maguire ensuring GB had no chance whatsoever, and now you claim he had every chance. I believe the former. Barrow’s time with Chester was last season and the club shot itself in the foot, firstly stubbornly sticking with McCarthy, and then appointing Bignot as replacement. I have no doubt that the club would still be in the National League now had we employed Barrow. Just my opinion I know, but it can’t be proved otherwise. I have all the proof in the world that McCarthy and Bignot got us relegated. Line drawn, sadly accepted, and still concerned that some of those who created the situation remain. P.S. No such thing as the dole.

I know you love Graham Barrow as much as my mates and I do, and things are raw right now as he has wiped his arse on his legacy. Re: the dole. I apologise. I hope they are both sacked come Santas visit.

Strange move, I doubt he'd have been short of coaching/scouting offers. I understand he has to work but it leaves a bad taste.
'Wiped his arse on his own legacy' just about sums it up. Just shows you that real loyalty is an incredibly rare trait in football. Hope it's a disaster all round.

We had the chance to get Barrow 2, 3 time over, it never worked out. best leaving the past in the past. Sadly, nothing ever existed that would have presented an opportunity to “work out”. Too many idiots at the club made sure of that, and several are still there. I see that Richard’s great review has come to nothing, so no surprise there then. Im very relieved that the club is full of positives at present, but remain of the opinion that the bad things are dormant rather than extinguished. Perhaps you could enlighten us all as to which elements of the review have come to nothing? Your continued cynicism never ceases to amaze me. There will always be issues to sort out, improvements to be made and challenges to overcome. Directors will still make mistakes, as is the case in any business, the difference perhaps being that our dirty washing often takes place publicly. Yes, some of the directors remain from a dark period in our history, but they have admitted their mistakes and are doing their best to make things right. The dormancy you describe could be said to be in some peoples unwillingness to really get behind the club, much preferring to point fingers and look backwards. I suspect that every time something goes wrong you will revert to type and use your own excellent command of our mother tongue to pour historical scorn on us.

I want to look forward in a positive and happy mood not keep looking back.

Sure he openly admits he bleeds blue and white, which makes this decision even more odd. Football has no loyalty honour anymore.

Another piece in the jigsaw. A wealth of experience and a contacts book to envy. Happy chap. Your jigsaw is smashed up and has so many pieces missing you might as well chuck it away. Had he not been a former Chester man there would not be this gloating. Typical of you though. No sign of you yesterday when you signed the crappest striker in the Conference. he cast a hook with no bait and surprise surprise he landed you! good assistant to the novice manager, you have missed your vocation mate being able judge a striker on one or two games you may have seen him play in, I doubt he will be the no 1 striker and I have a feeling he will surprise a lot of people with the right coaching staff...... Barrow being one of them

One could reverse your statement to read “which elements of your review have come to anything?” I chose the word “nothing” specifically because that is exactly what I have read of your review. I had hoped for a far greater level of communication, but true to form, I have read nothing. You admit directors remain from the dark period, and that they were complicit in mistakes. This supports my use of the term “dormant”. Maguire has gone, but he didn’t act alone. I’ve paid my £12, I’ll be there on Saturday, so take exception to your use of the phrase “unwillingness to really get behind the club.” Of course there will be scorn if anything negative in the future pertains to an historic legacy, particularly where knowledge of it has been suppressed.

Disapponted he’s gone there and not defending his decision but I suppose GB would argue how much does he owe Chester? He felt he had the rug pulled from under him after winning promotion in 1994; he was sacked in 2001 despite overseeing some impressive cup results while having to put up with Terry Smith breathing down his neck; while assistant here in 2006-07 he turned down the chance to join Roberto Martinez at Swansea and was rewarded for his loyalty by Vaughan sacking him a couple of months later; and if the rumours are to be believed he wasn’t made to feel valued by Maguire when the manager’s job was vacant last year.
Those things weren’t the fault of the fans but if everything’s added together in his mind I doubt he’d think to himself that he wouldn’t take a job because it would upset those at Chester. Shame though anyway.

What about if we'd appointed him back when Vaughan was here, you'd have no doubt we'd have won the champions league and the world cup by now.... Bore off over to fantasy land. What's done is done and we're in a new era now and I can't wait for the season to start with the people we have in place. Couldn't give a flying one about anyone at any other team.

The more I think about it though, as someone with Chester FC in my veins, even if I was on the bones my arse, I couldn't sit in the dugout at Wrexham. Disappointed in him.

Something didn’t quite sit right with me when Gary Caldwell dismissed rumours about Barrow coming back here in September. From Caldwell’s words it felt to me that GB was a bit smug about his reputation with us. I think the toys have been thrown out of the pram since.
Not many people are so fondly remembered, to just toss that up in the air for what he has (which is not much, let’s be honest) is pretty short sighted and quite foolish. He has to work, but didn’t he already have a decent job?

Not to mention the fact he was a senior figure (assistant?) in Martinez's backroom staff when Wigan were in the Premiership - he'd have been earning good money.

Funny report on the Wrexham website. It mentions nothing about Barrows playing career. As for him joining them it’s only a quick fix just to get Ricketts feet under the table. Missing out on several players already Barrow has come in to hold his hand.
They are to busy right now to keep hold of Pearson.

Really couldn’t give a toss to be honest, he always gave his heart and soul when he played here, got us promoted as a manager and relegated, he rightfully can be considered a legend but if he’s joined them down the road then so be it. He may have contacts etc but is he really suitable at this level I’ll take Morley and Johnson any day. Onwards and upwards. Our city, Our community, Our club.

Never thought he would go to Wrexham although when I saw Sammy Lee in an Everton top dancing around when they scored against Liverpool I thought anything is possible when it comes to the modern game and money. However, there was a strong rumour that Marvellous Maguire treated him with absolute contempt in the interview process last year and you can't help but wonder whether that was a factor. Another one I found surprising was John Rudge. Port Vale's most successful manager of all time, led them for 16 years and hard to believe that for some of that time they were the top Potteries club. As soon as they parted company with him, he took up a director of football role at Stoke.
I think even the most passionate of players and managers don't quite have the club in their blood in the same way we do. Their passion is more fleeting and they're able to apply it to a new club pretty easily.

When Wrexham fail again and let’s be honest they will because they are a bunch of failures, Barrow will have lost his legend here and will also be known as that “Jester ****” by them. A sad way to end his career. Dear dear how bitter and twisted you are ! Barrow did a good job for you on more than one occasion and has moved on just like the great Garry Bennett did. Talking about failures please remind me how your team did last season !

How is that bitter and twisted?
It is something that will happen for sure. You lot will fail to get promoted and call Barrow all the names under the sun like you did with Little, Wilkin, Mills and Andrew Davies. The bile that was aimed at Davies on Social Media was unbelievable.
You also had people come on here saying that they were travelling over 100 miles to give Mills abuse and were proud of that fact. That's a small time attitude from a small time club.
