Dave Powell has Just posted that the heavy rain yesterday has caused some serious problems to the PA and Control room. More information to follow, let's hope it doesn't cost to much or maybe get Bern in on a discount

That's true, especially if it's really damaging. It's highly unlikely but there's even talk of the game tomorrow being called off. Obviously health and safety and all that.

Need to play again and get that dreadful result out of our system.

It's only possibilities at this stage, if it was the case I think they have until 12 tomorrow to announce anything unless we're Solihull and call it off at 7pm.

Most commercial lettings, the tenant has to stump up for repairs.

Yes, it will be the clubs responsibility to fund the repair, lets hope it is covered by insurance.

Well this is where our contingency fund is put into practice if it not covered/covered fully by insurance. Hope it doesn't turn out too bad.

I've said it before and I'll say it again the whole club needs an exorcism.

I think the club would have been wise to provide more detail regarding the areas and equipment affected and the reasons why it’s led to a postponement.

1. It is the club's responsibility to repair damage under our lease. 2. We are fully insured for such damage. 3. We would not be able to house a football match with a control room not fully operational(cameras/recording facility/steward control). 4. It is a Police ruling that a fully operational PA system must be in existence within the ground and all internal public areas to cover all emergencies.
Let's hope that our current PA equipment is beyond repair and can be replaced, as it is still working on valves.

'With the bulk of the electrical equipment in the control room and the need for it to be fully functioning and safe in order to oversee a match day, a decision has been taken to postpone the game in order for the necessary repairs to take place'. www.chesterchronicle.co.uk/sport/football/chester-fc-clash-kidderminster-harriers-15024286

Would be amazed if this could be all sorted by Saturday? Could we be looking at a few weeks without a home game? Just as we come up to that spell of three home games in quick successional I was talking about on here. Swear we're cursed.

New roofing/ceiling, electrical repairs. It's the equipment that will be the tricky part. They've got 4 whole days, it shouldn't be a problem unless there's more that's not been discovered.

Just thinking about it they'll need to get the whole stadium safety checked as well. Those Vaughan stands must be swimming, don't want anything collapsing when were losing 4-6 on Saturday

I don’t know if fans of other similar clubs to us feel the same, but there’s something about Chester FC where as soon as there’s the faintest flicker of something good coming together, events will conspire in a ridiculous and (at least to outsiders) somewhat comical way to remind us of how bloody desperate it can be to support this club at times.
What a dreadful three days. Makes me glad to be off to Copenhagen for a week tomorrow.

Equipment in Control /PA room is quite easy to replace. It could be sorted quite quickly by hiring the damaged items whilst waiting for the green light from the assessors. Once that has been sorted, we will have new kit installed professionally. All damaged areas are relating to both rooms. Hopefully nothing externally should be affected in relation to equipment.

I think the club would have been wise to provide more detail regarding the areas and equipment affected and the reasons why it’s led to a postponement. How about, turned up for work this morning, no electricity, no phones, no computer systems, therefore no game until it is sorted, simple.

I've wondered about situations like this happening and then having to go through insurance companies and get quotes etc before anything can be done. I am sure that amongst our supporters we must have many construction workers who would jump at the chance to help out in a situation like this .a simple register of trades people supporters willing to help would save the club thousands .and cost nothing to set up.i know for a fact we have supporters who are structural engineers .building control officers. Site managers and all trades .maybe this could work
