I always knew the adjacent pitch as The Annexe. Senior moment Billy. I couldn't pull that name from the depths of my mind. I believe we got £290k for it, which was a fair sum back in those days, but I suppose much of that would have been used to pay off debts. didn't the money fund our 1974/5 team which won promotion and got to the semi final of the League Cup?

I think it did as I mentioned.

Played on the Annexe a few times AGAINST Chester, and on one occasion scored twice against Grenville.

I notice that Stockport Town beat Tranmere and Runcorn Town beat Macc. Leaves a final 8 of Chester, Runcorn Linnets, Runcorn Town, Stockport Town, Stockport County, Nantwich Town, Cammell Lairds & Congleton Town. Be nice to win this trophy again and a decent chance this season!

I don't think they are officially, but they were formed about the same time as Woodley were dissolved.
It usually is a non-league team that wins this competition rather than the bigger names like Crewe and Tranmere.

Woodley Sports changed their name to Stockport Sports who folded. Stockport Town are technically a new club, but play at
the same venue that Stockport Sports did. Crewe play their U23 side in the competition (and lost a cracking game at home to
Nantwich last week) and Tranmere/Macclesfield play their reserves, hence the embarrassing but not catastrophic
loses to Stockport Town and Runcorn Town. Nantwich and Runcorn Linnets are probably to be avoided at this stage, as they usually put out the first team squad and both are at or near the top of their divisions and playing some excellent football.

Thanks. Not a top priority but it would be nice to win it. I enjoyed the win in 2012.
