Bignot was working under near-impossible conditions and did so with dignity, unlike his predecessor. Let's not forget he was also sacked in a public car park after travelling all the way from Leeds to support the youth lads in action. I hope he gets a decent reception tomorrow. Our relegation was sealed as soon as the board decided Jon McCarthy would continue as our manager following the disastrous end to the previous season - I don't think anybody could have kept us up with the mess he left behind. On the flip side, Bignot (apparently) didn't stick to his promises to the board regarding moving players out to fund his signings. He brought in players, but didn't reduce the budget to balance that out. That helped put us in the position we found ourselves in last January. Not sure he behaved with that much dignity, unless the cameras or reporters were there. Bignot did what the board told him to do

That would be the same Board in post at the time that would nearly destroy our club with their poor decisions of course. I'm not sure who you think could have been moved out, due to a lack of any budget (all spent by Jon-boy before Bignot arrived) we struggled most weeks to put a team together due to the lack of players available, and despite some of them playing for free.

He worked under the worst board we've had since reforming, inherited one of the worst sides ever to 'grace' the Deva turf & had to deal with a club that was on the brink of oblivion. Don't really deserve to be 1 down here. With this ref anything could happen second half.

His promise was that he would keep the Club up with no increase in cost. Any players brought in would be balanced by players going out. He never did neither. I despise the way he had was sacked, it was wrong, but ultimately he had it coming.

2nd half only just kicked off. Guisley bench been called a disgrace to reports. Proper mixing it up. Wonder if Bignot has a grudge?.

To be fair, I donât think Bignot can be blamed for failing to ship out the dead wood McCarthy brought in. The managers job is to get the best team he can, but the economics of it are down to the board, and the board did things the wrong way round. They shouldâve said to him that if he wants to bring anyone in, we need to get several high earners off the books first.

Wow, Bradford PA 1-3 FC United Chorley 2-1 to Alty which would put them 6 clear with a game in hand.
Bradford game now 2-3 with 12 minutes to go.

Referee spoilt that game for us. Otherwise weâve got a physio room full of players and Green was obviously suspended too, and Guiseley made it difficult for us but weâre unbeaten so far this year, the lad McAllister looks neat and hopefully a new striker in next week.

Jackson for me as well. Smalley is poor but we sort of know that, rather have had Brown start and play Duds in that Smalley role. If we had Asante thatâs 3pts I dare say?

Itâs two points lost but on reflection there wasnât a lot more they could do. We played with width and stretched them but Guisely were strong and organised and for their effort alone they deserve to leave with a point. The ref had a shocking first half. Possibly the worst 45 minutes Iâve seen from a ref. She wasnât helped by Guiesleyâs tactics at times but still she was very, very poor. Thankfully, she and the game settled down after the red card. It probably would have settled down if sheâd given a card sooner or got hold of their back four a lot sooner than she did. Roberts was my man of the match. He really couldnât have done anymore. Several others had good games. Mooneyâs poor form continues and Smalley is pretty much a waste of a perfectly good shirt.

Needed to be winning that today. Always tough against 10 men but I was disappointed by our lack of attempts on goal most of the game - especially after equalising.
I know we're short of options but there has to be a better option that doesn't see Smalley playing no.9. He runs around a lot but nothing productive comes from him.
The ref was abysmal first half, missed blatant fouls and didn't seem to be aware of the 'play advantage' rule. She also wasn't sure about the sending off which speaks for itself.
Also thought the antics of Bignot et al in the technical area were embarrassing. No class among that lot whatsoever. Guisley have always been an ugly tinpot side.
