I sent a tweet to the CFU twitter address to ask if possible to show an agenda. This may attract more people if they are aware of what is going to be discussed.

For meetings to be attended and effective a formal Agenda should be communicated to all CFU members at least one week before each meeting and Minutes within one week following each meeting. Comms has previously been criticised by many so we should be able to at least communicate frequently and effectively amongst our own membership.

Only found out today that the CFU meeting tonight cannot be streamed live as we now use the YouTube platform and it is their rules.
On behalf of all Exiles who are paid up CFU members and owners of the club and therefore we are entitled to the same rights to participate in CFU meetings as home fans. Could the club please consider an alternative method of streaming so that we can join in formal CFU meetings.
Despite claims by the previous Communications Director, it was the Exiles who suggested the streaming of these meetings in the first place and paid for the camera to film them. Sadly the camera died prematurely as it was used for other things.
Thank you!

Despite claims by the previous Communications Director, it was the Exiles who suggested the streaming of these meetings in the first place and paid for the camera to film them. Sadly the camera died prematurely as it was used for other things. Thank you! Hi Pauline, as per comments on Twitter... I'm continuing to look for a cost effective option to stream privately, formal CFU meetings. The old platform used which was pretty low quality at times, suddenly cost £99 per month to run. Given we can stream informal meetings on the you tube channel means that we'd be forking out £1200 on a product only used 6 times in a year. You tube removed the facility to do private live streams unfortunately and as yet haven't come across anything that offers what we need either for free or a cost that would be valid. Just a point of note, this is not an issue associated with the camera, which I believe does function still. I've streamed the last couple of informal meetings on my phone which has seen a far better quality, and a recording of the meeting possible too. Ideally I would like to replicate that for formal meetings and will continue to try and get something in place for the March meeting which will be the next formal meeting. Date TBC. Jeff

As an exile that will probably never make a CFU meeting in person due to distance of travel on a weeknight, just wanted to echo Pauline's disappointment at not being able to watch online. Communication out of the club isn't usually great, although has improved a lot since the financial challenge last year and subsequent shake-up, so watching these meetings was always vital to me feeling informed on whats going on at my club.
All of the above begs the question, as a CFU member, will I ever get to know what happened/was said at last nights meeting?

Without Deva chat I wouldn't even have known there was a meeting on. Surely there should be something on the official club website. Shouldn't they be announced at the home games, both pre-match and half time.
It must be frustrating for exiles in not being able to attend the meetings. It's also frustrating for locals to find out they've missed a meeting, as they weren't aware there was one on. As I did a couple of months ago.
Publicise the meetings. Let people know the Agenda and the speakers. That would get more people down, or watching online. That gets more people involved. That may get more volunteers or people joining the working groups, or even wanting to join the board.
Appreciate the time pressures, but more people getting involved should help reduce those pressures.

I still think it would make a hell of a lot of sense to have these meetings on Saturday mornings or early afternoons before matches. It would be a nice reminder that the on-pitch and off-pitch well-being go hand in hand, and I suspect it would improve the attendance not only at meetings, but matches as well.

I think the board members might be too busy to do this before a match. Also you would be asking people with families to take more time out of their weekend. Similarly, anyone who brings their children to the game would then be unlikely to attend the meeting as well. Thursday evenings are preferable I believe, but as previously mentioned, might be better advertised.

Personally, with a young family and a full-time job, I would rather give up my time on a Saturday morning than a Thursday night, but I’m probably not in the majority there.

I'm in much the same boat with a 12 hour round trip to get to Chester and in poor health. Can't it be recorded and accessed via the CFU site or a written report as was done for previous meetings (probably more work than a recording).

Any points on what was said at last nights meeting? This is what frustrates me! For any members who couldn’t attend last night it seems increasingly unlikely that we will receive any updates. 🤷🏼♂️

Minutes will be published on the CFU website soon but last night was a fairly short agenda.
I did a no frills presentation on what the FEWG have done, doing, and are looking at in the near future. Lots going on.
Dave presented a chairman's report, Andrew Morris presented an update on the football side of things and also the HR section too.
Then an hour of Q and A followed.
Since the meeting I've had a member contact me with an option for online streaming to a private audience which I'm looking into so hopefully more on that to come.

There was also an update on fundraising working group(almost reached their set target!), commercial group(planning for next season with main sponsors due to renew) Rich Lynes new director search(should be completed in next week), and Stuart Murphy assistance and donation. So yeah not much.....

It wouldn't be as good as seeing it streamed live and being able to participate, but at least we'd not be relying on people in attendance to summarise it. And it's not affected by the streaming issue Banksy mentioned.

Jeff Jeff if this doesn't come to fruition how about this idea? You can make a closed Facebook group, and to join (and be able to see anything in the group) you can set up questions for people wanting to join, those questions could be to confirm their name and CFU membership number. You could then live stream straight on the group for people accepted into the group to watch it. Wouldn't cost a penny. Obviously the member would need Facebook though. Just an idea I had.
