Well, that is a team that Chester FC don't have a good record against since reformation. Anyone remember the 4-1 drubbing from 2011-12? Tough draw that one.

They’re possibly the best team left in the competition when you consider the strength of the team each side puts out.

Turned out to be a class away day that.. for me anyway! ended up in a pub with all the directors and had a free spread! Very welcoming even in my Chester top

I remember it well, was the coldest summer bank holiday in living memory, massive queue for pies, teas, toilets and we played about as badly as we ever did at that time (when we were blasting teams away) i maybe imagining it but it but didn’t Ben Mills play brilliantly for Nantwich leading to Macclesfield signing him??

No you are not imagining blueboy. I was walking to the match alongside one of their fans and I asked what he thought and he said, we've got this great big lad up front - if he's playing we'll give you a game, if he's not you will walk it. He did play, and they certainly did!

Tough draw away, heard good things about the quality of their pitch and general operation there.

Remember the Devachat 1 meltdown after that game too!
Thank god we never looked back after that!

He was still playing for Nantwich in the reverse fixture at the Deva in January that season.

Tidy little ground. Large social club. Great pitch. Plenty of parking. Nantwich lie third in the league, previously top upto new year. Knocked Crewe out away in the last round. Friendly supporters who always back Chester when Wrexham are the opposition. Small seated stand. Full cover on the opposite side & both ends are open. Town centre is 5 mins walk.

Correct we missed Simm & Howard that game instead we had to endure the greatest so called player in the world Rainford through 90 mins

He did play, and they certainly did! Think George Horan got sent off in that game and Simmo and Ian Howard arrived late and were left out of the team. The infamous game where Simmo and Ian Howard allegedly travelled to Nantwich's old ground (now a housing estate) and were subsequently left out of the starting line up. I saw John Danby give his gloves away to a fan after the final whistle as
a kind of apology for the result. That defeat led on to a September containing 7 wins without conceding a single goal, culminating in the 3-0 drubbing of Chorley at Fortress Deva.
I see Nantwich quite often and they play a neat passing game all the way from the back four. I always get the impression
that the pitch is a bit on the small side, and whatever the weather, it's always perishingly cold in that Grandstand. We would need a fairly strong side out to have a decent chance against them, and as it's only the Senior Cup, I doubt that.

Don’t see the point in hoping we’re out of it. It’s not like we’re fielding our first team. Good chance for the kids to play against senior sides if nothing else.
