We are at the Deva again tomorrow as we host Curzon Ashton at home where we look to extend our unbeaten 2019 record. Last Saturday we put in a decent display against Guiseley but couldn’t muster a last gasp win despite us throwing everything at them. Tomorrow’s match will not be easy as Curzon are on a good run of form, but to keep our promotion dreams alive we really have to get the three points.
Ahead of this game there is some good news to report as George Green will be available for selection again following his one match ban. We are still thin on the line attacking-wise so there could still be a chance of us bringing somebody in to today as we only have Anthony Dudley and Deane Smalley up front. If we don’t manage to sign anybody today I’d prefer Nathan Brown to start as he had a good cameo against Guiseley, instead of Deane Smalley who wasn’t as effective.
Curzon Ashton will be making the journey from Greater Manchester currently on a good run of form. A lot of people predicted them to struggle this season but they have managed to hold their own as they sit in a comfortable position in mid table. Long-serving manager John Flanagan was sacked at the end of November whch was a surprise to many as he was doing a great job there. Mark Bradshaw came in who didn’t get off to a flier, although Curzon have won their last 3 games so will be no pushovers tomorrow.
Despite our shortness in depth at the moment we have to win this game as these are the type of matches we look back on at the end of the season. In all honesty our atmosphere has dropped off during recent home matches so we need to bring the feel good factor back to get behind our lads. Come On City!
Score: Chester FC (Green, Dudley, Grand) 3-1 Curzon Ashton Attendance: 1,845 (34 Curzon Ashton)
My predicted lineup: Shenton Jackson Howson Livesey Grand Mahon Roberts Mooney Green Brown Dudley
COYB!

Might be a tougher match then some expect.
Curzon Ashton have a good away record w6 d4 l3. It's their home record that means they are low in the table. They've also won their last 3.
Any win is a good result for us, given our injury list.
Hopefully we'll have enough to get the win.
1-0 Grand. 1650 frozen solid support

Echo Harry’s thoughts on this, isn’t going to be an easy one at all. My younger brother has decided to spend his birthday with 5 mates who’ve never been to a Chester match before at this one so hope we can get the win.
2-0 Chester, Jackson and Roberts. 1,712

Personally, if Lloyd Marsh Hughes is fit. I would start him. He offers much more movement and closes down quicker, than Smalley.

Will this game be on its snowing quite badly at the moment Its not sticking and the forecast is for it to be cloudy later but no more sleet/snow. I don't think it falls below freezing tonight either due to the cloud cover.

Firstly welcome to Ben. Been and AJ obviously feel the ad can improve us otherwise he wouldn’t be joining us? I get the CFU members thing maybe there was no one available at short notice to assist with this? They are all volunteers and I’m sure have commitments which may have been difficult to drop at the spur of the moment. Onto tomorrow’s game this is one we really need to win if we are to try and finish 2 nd or 3rd to avoid the extra play games. I’ll go for a 3-1 home win with 1763 braving the cold

Rio.... Amazing analyse as always, you know your stuff mate, top lad. Watching it reminds me of trainspotting (movie not the highly debatable “hobby”). Slow down mate unless I was on double play! Future CFC media guru in the making...... if not already.
