Nomads have just reached the final of the SCOTTISH Challenge Cup with a penalties win over Edinburgh City.
George Horan with what turned out to be the winning penalty, with Danny saving two (albeit way off his line for both). Wildey missed one (he was never great at penalties) but scored in the game.

The first “guest” club to reach the final, ever.
Boreham Wood, Sutton Utd, TNS, Crusaders, Coleraine, Bohemians and Sligo Rovers were the other guest clubs this season. It also has SPL U21s teams and a few Scottish non-league outfits.
It’s Scotland’s equivalent of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Would love to watch Chester abroad, this seems the closest we'd ever get to that mind.

Three Chester legends there doing the business. Hopefully they go on and add to their individual silverware collection.

Not to mention John Disney, Callum Morris, Danny Harrison, and from Oldco Chester Lawrence Wilson and Jay Owen.

Some of the Edinburgh City fans took in the game at the Deva first, where the football was infinitely better from both sides.
Nomads with that long throw thing were horrific to watch. Shame as some of their lads are better than that as we know.

Has the final of this competition been yet? 23rd March vs Ross County. At Inverness Caley Thistle’s ground. Understand they have to play it in Scotland, but sending the Nomads all the way up to the Highlands to play a Highlands team doesn’t seem as neutral as it could have been.

Particulary when you realise the travel distance for both sides: Ross County: 14 Miles. Connah's Quay: 400 Miles. Somewhere like Falkirk would have at least even things up a tad.

Does seem unfair, but the Nomads manager Andy Morrison is actually from Inverness.

The rows and rows of empty seats for a cup final wouldn’t have looked good on the box. That’s the main reason it’s at the closest ground to one of the finalists.

Could’ve solved that problem by having it at the Deva then!

I think it's the Scottish equivalent of the LDV Vans Trophy or whatever it's called now.
Quite an achievement for CQN, but don't forget they are heavily bank-rolled.
