But wasn't Mark Wright also involved in the "sale" of the club to those Norwegian fantasists at the time. I am sure i remember his ugly face in a photo with the Vaughans "brokering" the deal, perhaps someone could find a link to the photo? I respect your opinion, i just dont agree with it. Yes he was. Well the Danish rather than Norwegians anyway. One of the least friendly Chester managers I have ever come across also. May have taken us up that year but he was also responsible for some very dour football too in other seasons. He was happy to jump into bed with the wrong crowd and certainly wouldn't get my vote if it came in front of me to respond to. Jeff Danish it was, thanks Jeff

Have you got any players in your Hall of Fame who have played for both clubs, genuine question not a wind up.

I suppose of the Famous Five Jimmy Humes is the least heralded and talked about. Well done Hughie and Jimmy. Jimmy Humes will always be remembered for scoring the goal at old trafford

Hughie Ryden my favourite Chestet player ever. I sat next to him in one of our FA Youth Cup games recently. He has aged very well and a true gent.

Why is Graham Barrow still in it? Should be taken out. I am going to hazard a guess you never saw him play for us under McNally, nor manage us to promotion? What has gone on since doesn't detract from the fact he was a warrior on the field, and put together and managed the best Chester team I've ever seen. 2 great wingers running at people and scoring for fun. Unlike that horrible twat Wright, he never sided with people who were running our club down, he stood up to them. He walked away when Morrison Construction refused new contracts for the very players that got us promoted. Going to that shite down the road does take some of the polish off it, but by God what a player and what a side he managed. And to be honest, he probably did Wxm more harm than good. His header in the Freight Rover at the Racecourse was just....

It should be on football merit really and he turned us around from a relegation threatened team at the bottom of the Conference to title winners in two and a half years.

Pretty horrible that. No excuse for racially abusing academy players but believe me, he and his wife do an enormous lot of good work for foster children. They have fostered children, he is an ambassador for Foster Care Associates and fronted a campaign to find an additional 10,000 foster careers. So not quite the villain some make him out to be.

Wright, if I remember correctly, was sacked from two jobs amid allegations of racism, neither of which related to us. He was alleged to have racially abused a black ref while managing Oxford, then allegedly made racially insensitive comments while managing Peterborough.
It's easy for something someone said to be taken out of context, but to be sacked from not one, but two, jobs after being accused of racism is pretty damning, and I always found it odd that Wright never seemed to do much to clear his name. You'd think he'd have the money to fight these charges, or perhaps get involved with Kick It Out or even just make an apology. He even refused to shake hands with Keith Curle - would you really do that if you already had a racism accusation hanging over you?
He always seemed a pretty unpleasant man. Perhaps his work with foster children shows he's trying to change as a person, but I can't forgive him for being involved with the Danish bid myself, among other things.

Maybe mistaken.
