After 8 years this years cup finals will be held away from Chester FC -
I understand your point regarding the venue for the final but not for the first time, the DFA has had a lot of difficulty in trying to deal with Chester FC. After months of trying we have not been able to receive any reasonable response with regard to availability, costs, etc.
This is really disappointing as having the local cup finals at Chester is a great occasion for the teams that get there and being a District competition you’d think Chester FC would want to host as per the previous years and not make it difficult as it’s seems to be the case above.

I believe the club were looking for leagues and hirers to cover the full cost of stewarding this year , shame an agreement couldn’t be reached though

Chester FA aren't exactly a shining example of flexibility, though, are they? One or two people on that committee have been there for years, and maybe still hold grudges from years back.

To be honest the constraints put on CFC for stewarding any fixture, be it a youth team game of 300 supporters, a first team game with 1600, or a local cup final with 500 parents and kids is ludicrous. The amount of stewards to supporters at the Deva compared to other local grounds in the CWAC area (anyone who went to Winsford or Nantwich would agree) is shocking. I know it used to cost £500..? Disappointed if it is true that the FA had trouble dealing with anyone at CFC though, but the Chester & District JFL seemed to do ok?

that it rub it in .. you must have friends on the Chester fc board lucky u Why should the club be expected to pick up the costs? We have no money anyway so to incur additional Expenditure would be mad. Nice to have the finals but not at a cost to us!

Judging by the OP they had enquired about availability and costs but had not received a reasonable response. We are also meant to be a Community club so therefore serving the local community and what better way than the local football leagues where I am sure some of our fans come from. Not great given that after tomorrow night we will probably be encouraging local teams to use the new community sports facility!

I get that 100%. But there is a large cost involved that we cannot afford. The issue around a non-reply though is something else and could be resolved probably with a call to the club?

Which is not what the OP has said. The OP said they've not received a "reasonable reply" which to me sounds the response they've received is basically not what they wanted to hear regards to cost.

That’s how I read it too.
