How are we supposed to sign players without dealing with agents? I agree, but they are the thing that is wrong with football. I'd be interested to know how much we spend on agents each season. We don't spend a penny on them. I see no problem with players paying for an agent to represent their interests. After all, players are expected to be good at football not contractual negotiations.
It is only an issue when clubs and players both employ the same agent. I don't understand how it is legal, or moral, for an agent to act for both parties in a negotiation but this appears to be endemic at the highest levels.

Pretty underwhelmed so far, and still waiting to be convinced in regard to the duo’s scouting network. Early days so still optimistic( we’ll, hopeful at least). My target was minimally the play-offs, so three points away may as well have been 23. Crap defence and all need changing. Too slow, too old or just not at this level. Last thing I want is for continuity with what we had. It’s May 14th Underwhelmed haha Indeed. If this was July 14 I’d be worried. None of the signings are bad and on paper it’s starting to look like a solid but unspectacular NLN squad. The squad needs more backbone and more pace. There needs to be at least 8 very shrewd signings to set us apart from the rest.

Plenty of time to bring players in yet. Agree about backbone and pace.

We are in a stronger position than this time last year. I'm quietly optimistic a competitive team is being put together for next season. Let's hope the roof repairs are still good for a couple of years

You say unspectacular, I said underwhelmed, which in my book is pretty much the same. Of course it’s early, which is why I said so far. I agree with you in that we need more backbone and pace. Season just finished I wanted play-offs as a minimum, and now I want promotion. Every pound committed on NLN standard is a pound no longer available when the quality we need is available. No point in a good bench if what’s on the pitch is no better.

I hope that is it with the re-signings now. Only one who has not committed pen to paper that I would like to see stay is Mahon. However, it is not the end of the world if he decides to go.
The defence hardly pulled up any trees last season so absolutely no need for Shenton and Livesey to be re-signed.
It would be interesting to see what Chorley and Stockport players will be able to commit to the Kent and District Conference next season. If that centre back for Chorley, Andy Teague, can't commit then he should be on Noel and Liam's radar. He was pretty impressive in the match at the Deva and has won promotion three times in his spell at Chorley.

I’m not fussed about Mahon.
What I’d like to see is some new signings which not only will get us into play offs but who ideally would be able to stick with us if we got promoted. There’s no point getting promoted only to lose all momentum and consistency when you have to completely change the team for reasons of quality or going full time.

I agree, but they are the thing that is wrong with football. I'd be interested to know how much we spend on agents each season. We paid £0 to agents between February 1 2018 and January 31 2019. £27,175 was spent on agents by NLN clubs during that time. Thanks I'm glad to hear that. If we don't pay them who does? I know it's a different story, but I get sick when I hear that Mino Raiola gets £20m every time that Paul Pogba decides he's bored at a club.

I’m very underwhelmed. Last season’s defence was poor and now Noel and Liam are re-signing most of them. Didn’t they also want Howson to re-sign?
After the hiding against Stockport the defence should’ve been cleared out.
How about getting the band back together and re-signing Dom Smalley??

With the managers now on holiday it’s going to be a bit quiet on the transfer front once they get back things will start to happen, I cannot understand why fans are so negative about the players that we have resigned. If you look at all the sides who finished at the top end of the league none of them did it by signing a complete new team they just added some quallity to what they already had, every time you make wholesale changes to your squad it takes half the season before the team beds in . Let’s just give the Managers and players a chance before we start the underwhelmed moaning none of us has any idea what the finished squad will look like yet so let’s save the moaning until we do.

Not worried about lack of new signings as still early days, but a bit concerned that so many of old squad have or are rumoured to be re-signing. What happened to only keeping 6 or 7? Will there be enough left in the budget to make the signing of 5 or 6 better quality players possible? Time will tell.

Pleased. Kept the best of last years squad. Now need to add to quality to it. I got fed up of a new team each year. Continuity is a good thing it certainly helped Stockport and Chorley

I’m bordering on flabbergasted with what I’m reading on here. We missed out on the play offs by 3 points I think? If Stopforth and Hughes would have played 40 odd games we would easily have been in the end of season shake up. We have now pretty much got all of what was worth keeping signed up. With half a dozen additions coming in we will be a decent outfit at conference north level. Surely the goal is to have a side that is capable of winning or at least getting in the play offs. It’s obvious the sort of players we need to supplement what we have on board. I’m sure Bern and Jonno will sort this out. All going well so far as far as I am concerned

I think Brad will be utilised more as a attacking right midfielder next season which was the intention when he first signed. I’m hoping that we bring in new first choice left and right backs plus a much younger centre half.
