Said it on here the other day. If he’s not fit by the first game, get rid of him. Should get our money back for him.

I read his wiki page yesterday and he's had long periods out injured at pretty much every club he's played for. Just waiting now for the happy-clappers to say wiki is bollocks. It doesn't augur very well imo.

Jeez, let's give the lad a chance. He's missed one friendly. Unbelievable. All good saying that, but he should be fit now. He’s had nearly 2 months. Like others have said his career has been blighted by injury, thought it was a mistake from the start and still do now. Was hoping and still hoping I’m wrong but it’s not looking good is it? We can’t afford to have a player who will be on a good wedge out for 3/4 of the season.

The usual suspects making random statements about players. The official line is (if you read the papers or listen to the news) asanti and Roberts picked up minor knocks in training. But will be playing on yhe mini tour

We can’t afford to have a player who will be on a good wedge out for 3/4 of the season. Where have you heard that he will be out for three quarters of the season? If you're going to make something up, why not say he will be out for the whole season? Makes your point even stronger. As I say, give him a chance. He wouldn't be here if there weren't issues. Asante is a class act but needs to be managed carefully. Play him off the bench if necessary, or for 60 minutes. The last thing we should be doing is getting on his back and I really hope he isn't singled out if things don't go well and he is perceived to be 'not trying' or feigning injury. What do you want, another 100 per center like Deane Smalley?

Scored 9 goals in 11 games. So when he does play his goals record Is excellent.I think we have to accept he’s not going to play every game. But when he does play he’s a potent weapon.Weve got George Waring to Share the roll up front.I’m glad we’ve got Asante.

Just to add to this, lots of people take the p*ss with comments about injury, as if Asante wants to be injured! Let’s be honest - if he stayed for scoring goals he wouldn’t be playing for us, he banged goals when he stayed for a few years back. He will be desperate to use us as a stepping stone and get earning more money I’d imagine.

Jeez, let's give the lad a chance. He's missed one friendly. Unbelievable. We have only had one match! No comment or opinion by myself, but enclose the following extracts from wiki; Asante signed his first professional contract, of two-and-a-half years, in January 2011.[6] Injury kept him out for four months, Asante was part of the Birmingham squad. He tore a hamstring playing for the development squad in October. The injury took considerably longer than expected to heal, He rejoined Shrewsbury on loan, initially for a month, ahead of the 2013–14 season. A hamstring injury delayed his second debut for the club until the fourth match of the season, Birmingham recalled Asante on 19 August as cover. However, injury prevented his involvement in Birmingham's next match and disrupted his season. Asante was without a club for some months while recovering from injury. On 18 January 2017, Asante signed an 18-month contract with newly promoted League Two club Grimsby Town. Injury meant Asante missed the last few weeks of the season and the first couple of months of 2017–18. Chester Asante went straight into the starting eleven for the match on 1 December, at home to Darlington, and scored a perfect hat-trick.He scored in each of his next two matches, and completed a permanent move to Chester on 3 January 2019, signing an 18-month contract. The undisclosed fee was a club record. However, knee damage sustained in the final match of his loan spell kept him out until 9 February, He hoped that full participation in pre-season training would help him play a greater part in 2019–20.

Perhaps we just have to accept with Asante that his fitness record is an issue, and if it wasn't, he would probably be playing at a higher level?
So far with us, he's shown that it's a lottery whether he plays from one week to the next, but also that if he does play, there's a decent chance he'll score.

If he didnt have the troubled injury history he has we wouldnt be able to afford him. We just have to hope he stays fit for long periods.

Would rather wait for a fully fit Asante than rush him back to soon. We do have more than enough fire power especially if Matty Hughes resigns.

I managed to read your post fine moltisonti, thanks, that was why I felt the need to single you out. Are you serious that if he's not fit for the first game we should get rid? Nowhere did I say that you accused him of not trying or feigning injury. Read my post properly, breaking it down into short sections if that helps. Yes I am serious. We can’t afford to keep (well paid) passengers
