its been a while now since the welcome S.M.donation was announced i seem to recall that our chairman said that projects were progressing but take time to deliver and difficult to do mid season
anyone know any news on these projects ? what they are etc?
with the season soon due to start soon i imagine the projects would once again have difficulty in being completed
i know S.M.has pledged monies towards the king george project but would be interested to hear ant news about anything else in the pipeline

A million quid is a huge amount and if spent wrong there will be an outcry. On back of the bad news of the damaged caused last week at the stadium why not spend on improving stadium and car park security and a more secure place for the ride on mower. Be a small amount to do this out of the million and hopefully stop it happening again.

This was discussed in another thread late May/June. Response from Jeff: Afternoon all...
Not too much to report on just yet. As one poster above eludes to we are just taking things one step at a time and still in dialogue with Stuart over future plans. Once there are developments then we'll be able to report back to members and to the broader fan base of course.
One thing that I did mention in the meeting last week is whilst the Census showed that we have improved communications we still have plenty of room for improvement and we'll shortly be looking to update via the CFU website on what each board member is cracking on with at present. Be that their own portfolio and / or working group.
On the subject of the Census results by the way, I'll be putting something together shortly to show basically the highlight info that I went through at the meeting last week, and we'll also be contacting those who offered to get involved one way or another.
Unfortunately at the moment I have a laptop that simply refuses to work properly and it's owner is full of bronchitis at the moment so once I'm through that I'll have some renewed energy to report back further!
Thanks Jeff

I believe so but it was destroyed by vandals so needs to be better secured

Did anyone really think Stuart was going to give the club a million pound? The story was to build infrastructure that would make us money. For every pound sent we would make two, was the quote. I didn't believe it then and still don't. Someone that needs a press conference and his picture in the paper. Is doing this for his own ego. He has save the from disaster, by paying out players contracts and giving hand outs when needed. I take my hat off for that generosity. My big fear is he is a businessman and very good businessman. The ground is worthless but the land is priceless. As a club I can see running costs of the stadium going out of our financial limits. Whitch Stuart will be fully aware of. When I saw the drawings for the Hub and the details of the proposal and Stuart's backing I thought " what a clever businessman". The Hub will become our new home because the stadium will cost to much to run on match day, and Stuart will get the land.

I can't see that being the case, as I understand it contracts have been signed by Stuart and the club so id imagine it would be a legal matter if certain promises were not met. Stuart was always going to have to come out and say it was him that was donating, if not then Deva chat would have gone into meltdown about who the mystery donator was especially after the minutes silence for our last 'benefactor'. Going along the same lines if he's happy to be in the media then he's putting himself in the firing line if anything like what you've suggested happens, although I do doubt very much that'll be the case.

My wife is a friend of the family, I can assure you that Mr Murphy’s intentions are good and there is no hidden agenda here.

I shook hands with Stuart last season and I haven't washed my hand since.
I've got a 'feel' for genuine and believe me this man is just that.

This messageboard is a ridiculous place at this time of the season. It actually makes the matchday threads when we lose seem bearable.

Yes the tractor was outside as was done early on in the day so tractor was outside ready to be used is that ok with you i come in peace and as for the ride on mower i wish i had one its a 7 mile walk to cut the pitch at the moment . Investment on some new kit would be great as we got very little the travellers could have smashed the doors off the shed and would have laughed as nothing there thats any use to anybody .

This thread, along with one or two others is embarrassing. We’ve barely kicked a ball and it’s depressing. People just can’t wait to stick the boot in to the club for some reason. And whilst I fully sympathise with somebody who isn’t being given the correct tools to do their job properly surely that is a discussion to be had behind closed doors with their employer? It just isn’t helping matters. For what it’s worth I think the pitch has been superb over the last two or three seasons.

So ask to fund it Bazza…. the club has squadbuilder so why not Grounds Kit builder? As for the tractor, I don't know that much but surely if it was put away the insurance would cover it? did it cover it anyway?
