I've just read that Swansea have turned down a £15m bid for McBurnie.
Wonder what the highest transfer fee ever commanded by a former Chester player is?

Didn’t Juventus pay £3.2m for Ian Rush from Liverpool?

I remember reading a Bradford forum when he went on loan to us. Plenty of comments saying "that's his level" etc. They must be scratching their heads or pig sick!

Swansea want him to stay but the bidding will start at £20m. Technically, the bidding has (reportedly) already started and was at (a reported) £15m....

No disrespect to Oli who I'm sure can cut it in the Premier League, but it's insane that amounts like £20m are being talked of for a forward who has never scored in the Prem, or for Scotland.

Totally agree Lobster, where we differ slightly is that I have real reservations that OMc would be little more than a team squad player for a PL club rather a regular.

From what I’ve seen of him he’s a championship player and I can’t really see him going much further than that. We must be coming to a point where football is officially insane when players such as Oli, who I’m a big fan of, are being touted at 20 million. There are kids all around the country playing on sloping pitches covered in dog turd and needles and players who have played less than 100 senior games are going for 50 million. It’s madness of the highest order.

Given up with top level football, the one that got me going was Aaron Ramsey signing a contract with Juve for over £20m per year. Bonkers!

Shame we won't be getting a percentage! I presume that Bradford City will though! Does anyone know why with their big crowds they bombed last season?

Sheff United have put in a fresh bid of £20m which Swansea are seriously considering accepting to help them with their financial issues

Taking our emotional attachment to the lad out of it, the world has gone mad when Oli McBurnie is worth 20 million pounds. It’s obscene.

The world of top flight football is becoming completely alien to me. I’m watching players who’ve barely played two seasons, at times struggling with the basics, and they’re going for 50 million. What on earth is going on?

Anyone else think we’re going OTT on the socials for a player who spent about two months with us on loan?

Anyone else think we’re going OTT on the socials for a player who spent about two months with us on loan? Not really, he’s a lad who scored his first senior goal with us & has gone on to make it at the top levels of the game & got a big money move. That doesn’t happen very often to any player involved with our club. He’s also a bit of a fan’s favourite & has talked about enjoying his time here & how it kick started his career.

Trevor Birch, the Swansea chairman played for us taking up Ian Rush's place. Very nice bloke. I happened to photograph him in London some years back. However he could throw us a few £1000 for our making of McB.

He was here for 5 minutes, but you could see how much it meant to him to score / help the team. Why wouldn't you be pleased for the lad?

Junior Agogo played 10 games for us & is mentioned in some people’s best ever or favourite elevens.
People have favourite players, some of which are loanees.
