To raise funds for Squadbuilder, we are inviting fans to Sponsor a Goal for the forthcoming season! How it works: You make a pledge - £1 a goal, £2 a win, £5 a hat-trick, £10 everytime Jonno runs onto the pitch to celebrate a goal. You can pledge for pretty much whatever you like (within reason): goals, wins, clean sheets, hat-tricks, favourite player goals, penalties saved etc. We will then collect the money monthly or at the end of the season. Pledges can be of any amount - all National League North, FA Cup and FA Trophy games are included. Please do give us a follow on Twitter (@chesterfcgoals) which is where we will primarily be managing the scheme. If you would like to make a pledge, please tweet us, email chesterfcgoals@gmail.com, reply to this post, or drop us a direct message. #UTS #COYB

Evening all...had a few drinks whilst on a holiday weekend away so please forgive any typos!
Please get behind this as it has worked really, really well for Darlington and it gives a feel of being really involved on matchday too.
Darlo have handed over £3k via their scheme last season which is fantastic and it would be great if we can do something similar here too.
You can literally pick anything here too. Last season one of the fans pledged £50 if one of their strikers went and bagged a hat trick in one game, and guess what happened...
So well worth getting involved, I'll get the ball running, if we score twice at Boston on the opening day I'll donate £5 per goal. Who's gonna go with me on that one?
Come on, we can do this!!
Jeff

we were given boxes a couple of years ago in which we contributed a pound a goal - I am happy to pledge the same again this season.

I'v just emailed for £5 every win. (don't do twitter) League and cup. If the doom-mongers on this site are correct it shouldn't cost me above £50! Wouldn't it be great if it cost me £200.

Have pledged £5 for a win coupled with a clean sheet tomorrow.
Anyone care to join me on that one?

Who has joined the group of pledgers for tomorrow's game?
A few of us have done so...and lots of varying pledges which is great and a lot of fun too.
Who's with me on £5 per Chester goal tomorrow along with £10 for a blues win?
The initiative whilst in its infancy has already raised around £700 in the first 2 months of the season. Worth noting that the example I looked at before suggesting this to the fundraising team was Darlington and they raised £3k for their squadbuilder so the start we've had is mirroring that one which is great considering this is the first time we've done this.
Get pledging today here... ChesterFCGoals will I'm sure add you to the list once pledges are listed.
Cheers Jeff

What’s happening with this? I haven’t been invoiced for either October’s or November’s goals.

What’s happening with this? I haven’t been invoiced for either October’s or November’s goals. Any update on this or is it like most schemes that fall by the wayside through lack of support. I agreed to sponsor a goal and pay at the end of the season but I wonder how many are actually sponsoring.

I’ve sponsored £1 a goal but am still waiting to be invoiced for October, November and December. If we are looking to strengthen the squad these funds are vital. Really disappointed as to how these initiatives continually fall down.

Unfortunately, it gives the impression (wrongly) that the club doesn’t need our additional money and must deter some from donating.

I also signed up for this, but have had no request for payment for several months. I don't like to criticise the volunteers, who do an excellent job, but I thought there was a fundraising committee that met regularly? Surely the first thing they could do is sort this out - otherwise it's just leaving money on the table.

Apologies for this - our Sponsor A Goal database disappeared with a laptop hard-drive crash so we are having to build the database back up from our previous invoices and correspondence. Should hopefully be sorted out soon, at which point, the invoices will start to go out again.
