Sounds like there are different factions within Bury's fanbase battling for the right to start a Phoenix club. Some say it can't happen. Not a good start to be fair. Ex-Director chained herself to a club drainpipe today imploring all North West clubs to "do something!!!" without specifying what exactly. Came across very Delia Smith and desperate. Doesn't look like anyone can do anything except hope for a sale to a decent buyer. In 24 hours. The 1st thing they need to do (like we did) is UNITE. We have the CFU and as you all know it was various factions from our fanbase who joined together to make things happen. So they need a 'Bolton fans united' otherwise they will all be pulling in different directions, instead of pulling together.

Dale has gone on talk sport again today to say Bury Fans need to Raise funds today. Unbelievable.

To be honest I don't think Bury fans are sure what they want. They just keep asking for "help" and "common sense to prevail", but they need to actually have a 'Plan B' in place.
I've just read Phil Neville saying "one man cannot stop one football club, which has hundreds of years of history, going out of existence". He can. We're proof of that.
It is difficult for them because compared to us it's happened relatively quickly, and on the back of success, but for me 100% of their effort needs to be on getting Dale out of the club, even if that means the club (temporarily) dies with him.

One of the interested parties have approached the EFL and asked them to intervene and remove Dale from his position due to his current behaviour

EFL have just released a statement:
As of 5pm there has been limited progress made either by the current ownership providing the required evidence in regard to outstanding financial information, or through a change of control being achieved with new owners.
The EFL will continue to provide all support available and will keep working to find a resolution to the ongoing issues ahead of the Notice of Withdrawal deadline, which remains at 11.59 PM on Friday 23 August.
If a successful solution is not found ahead of tonight’s deadline, the Club’s share in the EFL will be withdrawn and its membership in the League will come to an end.

I remember when Chester City was in it's final death throes thinking to myself "for God's sake, just put us out of our misery and let the fans/club get on with rising from the ashes"
I would guess many Bury fans may be thinking along the same lines as it seems to have reached the same point. Given some of the rumours flying around as to possible new owners, they may only be delaying the inevitable with a real chance that highly suspect chancers would somehow manage to hoodwink the EFL's farcical "fit and proper persons" process and then repeat the saga
To those supporters I would say, it may be scary and daunting but it can be done, as we well know
I remember feeling relieved when the axe finally fell - the period leading up to it was quite horrible
But, I'm sure there will be a light at the end of the tunnel

Nice one Jeff. In Bury Times Live feed.
"Message from a phoenix club – future can be bright
Chester went bust nine years ago and are now a fan-owned team in the National League North, the sixth tier, with an average home attendance last season of just under 1,800.
Director Jeff Banks said: “My advice to Bury fans now would be to stay strong. If the worst happens, it might end up being the best thing in the long run.
"If they haven't already started, start planning for the future and stop thinking about the past. It will take unity and a lot of hard work but it can also be a lot of fun.
"A club of Bury's size should be able to get back up the pyramid before long and you can make new friends along the way."

Personally i think it's it for them it's dragged all day with limited movement as Dale would rather take up worldwide news instead of trying to get his crap sorted, If no news in the next hour then they might as well throw the towel in

When Dale took over did Bury fans question his credentials and appeal to the Football League? If so then the FL should be held to account. But maybe like the vast majority of our fans were when SV took over they were so desperate they were blind to the potential and pretty obvious dangers. In our case SV had just destroyed Barrow FC but was welcomed with open arms.

Rory Campbell and Henry Newton - Campbell is the young son of the former spin doctor to the Labour Party. Newton had some sort of part-time managerial role at Barnet. Their company has been trading barely three years but talk up a massive port folio . . . interesting!

Apparently 190k in debt according to some tweets
No more news tonight EFL will decide tomorrow, if it goes tits up i feel Dale will need to get out of the country asap and EFL will have a lot of explaining to do in why they never gave them enough time to do a deal

Hope Bury fc survive but its not the end of the world if they do go bust as they'll have to unite and start fan owned but Who owns their stadium the council or is it Dale?. That will make things much harder if the ground isn't owned by the council. I felt a little torn when Cfc went bust as I was happy we could start Cfc fresh fan owned but gutted about the 4 league demotion. Did Chester city fc get so many chances as Bury are getting?. I'm just curious that's all. Are Bury and Bolton the tip of the iceburg? Wonder how many more football clubs are living behind their means or badly run.

Loads deep in debt

I do hope Bury survive in some form but it does look like even if they are 'saved' it might just be like jumping out of a frying pan and into fire. I don't like the sound of C&N Sporting Risk one bit.
I think most Clubs are in massive debt and football is rotten to the core. Would I swop what we have for the huge debts of being in L1/L2. Not for a second. The beauty of our situation is that we can't really get into debt. We have to live within our means and I suspect in years to come, we will be looked at as a pioneer and a shining light of the positives of a community based and community run football Club. Of course, it is down to us as fans to support and ultimately finance any success that we want to achieve.

Rewind 18 months ago.
