Burton with a shambles tackle to gift them a goal. 2-1 game on. No danger at all box packed with blues and he was wide by the touchline.

Left the ground with 10 to go and heard the clown Burton concede a daft pen. What does he do that's not negative?

That's a good win against a stubborn team.
We're now in a run of one defeat in 12 games, if you carry it from last season. Not bad, given we've supposedly gone backwards since Christmas.

A key player by all accounts in the Salford team that won this league, but I genuinely haven't seen him do a single useful thing for us. He must be a better player than he's showing himself to be here.

A much improved second half performance, with plenty of pace and penetration from Jackson. We could have had more goals, but for some wayward finishing. Really good games from all of the defence, who limited a useful Farsley side to very few chances. Great shift by Waring, capped off with a well taken goal. And thought Taylor also played well. MOM Jackson, who really caused them problems. Would have brought Elliott and Hughes on a little sooner. A decent points return from a difficult start.

Like with Green, I think there’s an element of trying too hard and flying in to challenges like Vinny Jones. Also, his inability to use his left foot borders on criminal. Let’s hope, he settles down and finds a bit of form. Also, from that article I don’t think he’s a player who’s too keen to sit on a bench and take the money. Which I can respect.

Once we started getting down the wings, behind them and crossing the ball, we looked the better team and got just reward for a much better second half performance. Jackson (and Taylor) did just that and deserved MoM. The whole atmosphere in my part of the ground improved immeasurably as the game became so much more entertaining. But there's still a Jekyll and Hyde element to us - needless penalty conceded, failing to kill the game off as Farsley tired, sloppy passing. Overall, however, a step in the right direction and, hopefully, a foundation to build on. Disappointed in the crowd. Where have those 500 from Tuesday gone?

Does anyone know what's going on at BPA? Three defeats, 13 goals conceded, it's the sort of start teams make if they're fielding kids.

Enjoyable game which opened up a lot in the second half. We looked to be cruising it until the penalty. Jackson and Waring were our best performers. I left the ground feeling more positive than on Tuesday. If and a big if we can count on Hughes and Asante then we have some great options up front.

What did you expect after the midweek dismal display Real fans but I’m maybe naive. It is the sixth tier of English football. The crowds will come back if we do well. Always the same.

Fully deserved that. We stepped up a gear or two 2nd half and they couldn't match us.
Waring and Jackson were the stand out players I thought, they caused Farsley all sorts of problems when we broke forward.
Had a feeling we'd find a way to let them back in it though and Burton was on hand to provide them with the opportunity. We must have better options than him at the club surely?
Toward the end we came frustratingly close to a 3rd with their keeper almost being beaten by the bounce of the ball and Elliott's incredible open goal miss.
I said earlier that I wanted to see us creating more than we did midweek and we certainly did that today.

Brad Jackson showed what an asset speed is and was MoM by a mile. I just wish we had a few more with similar pace as we are still far too pedestrian in our build-up. We deserved the win but there were a couple of heart stopping moments caused by Griffiths’ hesitancy.

People actually applauded that announcement. I was dumbstruck ~~ that's appalling. A few less than I expected, but you can take 200 less away fans off for starters, plus our floating fans who wouldn't have been impressed on Tuesday. Unfortunately it is how our crowds are, as sad as it is.

We emerged as deserved victors today as we put in a comfortable second half performance to break down a tough Farsley Celtic side. This puts us in a very healthy position as it preserves our unbeaten start, whilst we are still yet to concede a goal scored by the opposition from open play. It would’ve been nice to have kept a clean sheet today, but the main thing is that we opened Farsley up and capitalised on their slow defence by netting a couple of goals.
Our first half showing was quite decent, and we were unlucky to not be a few goals up as we hit the woodwork twice. Farsley started off as the better side in the opening stages as they went on a couple of attacks and had a succession of corners. We had most of the possession, but we took our time a lot and were quite slow in midfield. Around the 20th minute mark our first opportunity went to Joel Taylor who forced a strong save out of Elliot Wynne. Funnily enough Danny Livesey hit the woodwork twice today, as firstly he headed against the crossbar. Then, a delivery from Joel Taylor found Livesey who headed another effort against the woodwork - this time the post. Just before the interval Jimmy Spencer was very fortunate to still be on the pitch as a kick aimed at Russ Griffiths somehow warranted just a yellow card. In my opinion we just about edged the first half as in the closing periods we had more of the ball, but we headed into the break still searching for the opener.
We were a lot better in the second half as the likes of Brad Jackson, Joel Taylor, and George Waring were very dangerous going forward, and combined together to produce a comfortable result. The opening attack of the half resulted in a goal as Brad Jackson lashed his shot into the roof of the net, which gave us the perfect start. From this moment onwards we began to dominate as we were solid defensively, and up top we pressed Farsley’s backline well. Our second goal came from a brilliant counter attack which put daylight between us and Farsley. Our opponents were on the attack at the other end, but Jackson went on an excellent run on the right to play in Gary Stopforth, whose cross found George Waring who scored an easy finish from close range. Farsley’s heads didn’t drop though as they went inches close to finding a consolation. Russ Griffiths pulled off an impressive save to tip a free kick over, but the Yorkshiremen received a lifeline as Scott Burton lunged in late to give them a penalty. Will Hayhurst slammed the ball past Griffiths which gave them a fighting chance. Ex-Southport man Jordan Richards went close to snatching an equaliser as a free kick went over. At the other end of the pitch though Joel Taylor went ever so close to scoring a goal of the season contender (thanks to the wind). He booted the ball up the pitch from about 80 yards out, but the wind made the ball swerve with it going over Wynne’s head. If it wasn’t for Wynne’s quick reactions Taylor would have scored a sensational goal as the ‘keeper managed to claw the ball away from the line. With moments to go we should have put the game to bed as we had two chances in a matter of seconds. A strong shot from Jackson rebounded off Wynne to find Danny Elliott who blasted over. We held on to secure a vital result.
My man of the match is a tough one as Brad Jackson and George Waring were superb. I will opt for Waring purely for his celebration as it was much more imaginative than the one at Boston. For me he has to be starting every week as he is such an effective target man. Once again he held the ball up so well, and topped it off with a strike from close range. Brad Jackson was brilliant too as he started off a couple of counter attacks - one of whom resulted in a goal. He tore Farsley’s left hand side apart, and just like Waring he topped off a great display with a well-taken goal. Kevin Roberts had another good display as he got stuck in a lot and restricted the amount of crosses that came in. Joel Taylor was great too, especially in the first half where his pace drove himself forward. He made a few dangerous crosses as well.
It’s great to secure our first win at this early stage which puts us in a good position ahead of Tuesday night away at Kettering Town. Kettering beat AFC Telford United on the opening day, but have since fell to successive defeats so hopefully we can add another wound to their woes. We should be looking for maximum points out of our next two fixtures as we have a handful of tough matches after to end the month.
