Well its a win for chester and a good one too My view The positives brad Jackson his second half performance in particular was class don't think he was great first half but a great strike and a great lay up for the second Stopforth whilst I don't think he is match fit yet his run for the second goal was typically him when he gets fit watch him play Waring been waiting for a target man of his quality for a while and looks like we have one a chester lad who wants to play for us play needs someone alongside him Only 2 negatives mahon he was put of position but didn't do much I'm afraid got to really improve for me 2 why is it when at 2-0 up we sit back and not go for throat only real niggle but all in all a good win onto Kettering a tough game

I expected a scrappy game given the conditions and that's what we got. Farsley were pretty tough to break down, and can see why they have done alright so far. We did deserve the win, but god only knows why we spent 10 minutes camped in our own half at 2-0 up and invited the pressure when all we had to go was just manage the game properly. Burton unforgivably went to ground in the area and then things got twitchy. We deserved the win, but it could have easily gone against us too. Jackson was outstanding, and Taylor was much improved from his patchy showing on Tuesday. Taylor wasn't really tested defensively today but he was a useful outlet on the left, and I'm starting to see why the managers rate him. Waring looks like he's relishing being the main man at the moment, his workrate is fantastic and he has the look of a player enjoying his football. What struck me today was how wasted Dudley is. He does what he does well, but playing deep and laying off isn't exactly killing teams, and I feel like its often Waring up there by himself trying to make something happen against 2 centre half whilst also trying to run the channels. He's winning flick ons to nobody, because nobody is up there with him. Sometimes its difficult to see where the goals are coming from in this team, and we really have to try and get more bodies playing off Waring. I'm not against Dudley dropping deep, but his starting position should be further up the pitch so when he does drop deep he can at least drag a centre half out of shape and create space - he's not doing any damage where he is. Play him up front and you'll probably get 15 goals out of him, but play him where he did today and he'll get nowhere near 10. I have concerns about the shape in general, the 4-4-2 looks too rigid at times - I don't mind it away from home where its a bit more acceptable to sit in and make life difficult for the opposition, but at home its not great on the eye and we're not dominating or creating nearly enough. Another thing that struck me today was that Griffiths needs to improve coming off his line. He was hesitant on a couple of occasions, and one of those times it resulted in him getting hurt. A big lad like him needs to be coming off his line and smashing anyone in his way - hopefully it's just a learning curve as I don't think he's played much men's football. He did make a brilliant save after the shithousery from their number 4. Good start overall, but with plenty of things to improve on. A win on Tuesday would make it a great start. Spot on, my thoughts entirely.

Our attendances are disappointing, but two home games in five days is expensive, it's holiday season, and it was a foul day today. Anyone who had only budgeted to go to just one of the two games would probably have chosen Tuesday's with it being the first game and a slightly more exciting fixture. Not saying I'm happy with 1,600 but I'm not surprised and I don't really think an iffy performance on Tuesday had much to do with it. We just need to make sure we average higher than that. Nah, load of garbage. It’s been pre season for nearly 3 months. Might sound like a Tory comment but I’m not having people can’t afford 2 home games in a week. Hardly breaking the bank is it. They just can’t be arsed or rather watch Jeff Stelling. Spot on, Crowd was embarrasing our supports getting worse and worse its only affecting the club financially wise its pathetic

Real fans but I’m maybe naive. It is the sixth tier of English football. The crowds will come back if we do well. Always the same. They're not though... People keep saying this but its getting worse and worse, No excuses at all we had a decent home record last season and still people couldn't be bothered its strange

People keep saying this but its getting worse and worse, No excuses at all we had a decent home record last season and still people couldn't be bothered its strange Attendances actually started dropping from the first season, even though we were winning more and away followings were getting higher, so the "crowds will come back if we do well" argument argument is a little flawed.
Personally, I think we lost a bit of the community focus early on with steps like monetising highlights packages, the FLi website, increasing admission prices every season, and other small changes that just dampened people's enthusiasm a little. We started acting like we were just Chester City again playing far too low down the leagues rather than trying to build a new chapter and take advantage of a unique opportunity.
A more positive way to look at it is that our average last season was slightly up on 2017/18 (1839 to 1827), and that's despite Wrexham and Tranmere bumping up the average in 2017/18, so despite what many people think, the evidence is that the crowds are returning. But it's a slower return than we'd like.

Declining crowds is a worry. Home form has been reasonable. The price is reasonable. Kids are priced at next to nothing. The population of Chester is rising. I have no idea what the answer is. But what has been disappointing to me is hardcore supporters turning their back on the club. The reason seemingly that they don’t like the standard of football or they don’t like the supporter run model. Maybe supporting the club has become a chore for some?

I am bringing 2 of my Grandchildren to watch this season because of the great price offers for kids, even if they get fed up when the weather starts to cool down it’s hardly cost me an arm and a leg.

I was very disappointed with the attendance on Saturday but feel it's to soon to panic. Its school holidays so Saturdays are like a double hit, some people coming back but not in time for game and some going away on Saturday. Lets wait untill next month then we will really get a better idea of what our gate will be.

I am a bit perplexed by the panic that’s seemingly starting to set in about the poor gate on Saturday. It was poor but it was one game & in the previous game we broke the 2000 mark.
If we’re averaging 1500-1600 after ten games & doing well in the league then I’d be concerned.

While we are all concerned about the poor attendance, before beating ourselves up it is worthwhile looking at yesterdays attendances for the rest of this league and for the league above. Our 1601 is higher than the majority of clubs in the two leagues. A sad reflection of where we are unfortunately.

Even though we were comfortable yesterday Johnson was far from happy with certain players especially Mahon & G Roberts throughout the game

As a fan owned club, we're going nowhere fast if that's the figure we're just going to accept. Yesterday's crowd was disappointing but I do think a combination of factors led to it being slightly lower than it otherwise may have been.

Jackson threw in one of the best individual performances we’ve seen for a while today. Every time he got the ball he was causing havoc. We’re seeing the best of him now further forward. Waring and Taylor were also good, Waring looks as if he absolutely loves it here as well which is good to see. Burton actually did some really good stuff on the ball when he came on, but he needlessly gave away the penalty and his introduction coincided with us losing control of the game a bit. Not sure what to make of it. Funny because I literally said Burton was having a really good cameo and then he went to ground needlessly. Probably wasn’t a pen but no need to make the ref hve that option. Burton is the worst central midfielder we've since reformation, whist Gary Stopforth is the best. Burton's no backup. He's got no left foot (a rubbish outside of his right foot), shirks out of 50/50s that might hurt him, and lunges into tackles in the wrong areas. But he's let off because he's buddies with the managers.

5 Points from 3 games is a solid start given our previous history , Sadly the fans didn't show up given 2000 + Tuesday but a good result so be happy

If we win games and play reasonable, attacking football crowds will increase; if we lose a few they could go even lower. I don't sense much appetite for this league. Great when we were on the way up, but apart from York there isn't much to pull the floating punters in now. Agree though that weather, unattractive opposition, lack of away fans and holidays all played a part on Saturday.
