What is our fanbase obsession with the North East of England? Just a discussion of manager changes. They all happen to be going on in the north east at the moment.

My favourite trip to the North East was when the Darlo away game at the massive George Reynolds Arena got called off due to the snowstorm just as the Hipkiss arrived and we were all waved back home by a car park steward - I won my coach fare back on the football card, everyone else lost their £20. Happy days x

Back in the days when 20 quid was the maximum fare - to the likes of Darlo, Southend, Carlisle, Torquay.
Different times.

It was kind of a thing when B&J were here, but really we were just crap away from home in general.

Geoff Thompson (South Shields owner) contradicting himself a bit in the Telegraph today saying 'You don't need to spend huge sums', this after stating their budget is £1m whilst arguing with fans on twitter on Boxing Day.
Wow, knocks ours into a hat that (£350k?) Should be leathering teams like us and Blyth.

Happy days x A Hipkiss regular and ticket office volunteer recently won a prize on the Seals Lottery, so as a gesture he kindly paid for five people’s fares for Rushall Olympic away. I was one of the names drawn out of the bag, so got my £22.00 back 😎.

Might be appreciated on the Hipkiss once January kicks in.

What Rio has kept quiet there is how he paid that £22 in the first place. Nobody his age will admit to owning that many coins in this day and age, very uncool.

Made up for him. If anyone can get them out of trouble it’s him.
Looking forward to welcoming him back to the Deva.

Looks like Watson has again only initially agreed a deal until the end of the season. Think Darlo will almost certainly improve under him, but he’s ultimately got an Ian Atkins-esque challenge on his hands to get them out of the drop zone given they are several points adrift of safety.
It could all boil down to their game against us on the last day…

In the league above, Kiddy reveal their new manager - It's sad really that he's never lived down that on-pitch bollocking incident and his career has plummeted since. I think he had Hull in the Premier League's top five before that.

I think he had Hull in the Premier League's top five before that. Only ever heard players on podcasts etc talk well of him. Comes across as a sound fella. Having himself though isn't he? If he was chocolate he'd have ate himself by now.

Banbury
'The club can confirm that Mark Jones has left his post as manager of Banbury United’s men’s first team. Mark’s commitment and dedication to Banbury United have never been in question and we would like to sincerely thank him for his contribution to the club. He took on and delivered the daunting task of recruiting a squad almost from scratch over last summer.
However, recent results and the current league position meant this difficult decision had to be taken. We wish Mark well for his future in the game.'

Steve Smith at Bishops Stortford also going. Just our bad luck we caught them on the first day of the season when tails were up. Barely won a game since then. Mind you, we were shocking. Lewis Earl at centre half towards the end.

I re-read the match report for that game the other day and it’s surprising how percipient of our season it was. Having a few chances, missing them, conceding two to set piece balls into the box.

Having a few chances, missing them, conceding two to set piece balls into the box. I guess that's football at National League North level. Taking more of your chances and minimalising the goals you concede from set plays, doing the basics well gets you a long way in this league.
