On paper this is probably our easiest game for a while, so we really need to be picking up those 3 points to set us up for a tough run of fixtures.
Iâd like to see this line up
Griffiths K Roberts / Livesey / Grand / Taylor Jackson / G Roberts / Stopforth / Murray Asante / Waring
Subs: Hughes Dudley Elliott Waters Burton

Gloucester won't be pushovers. They've won both their away games so far. We haven't really played very well at all so far, but I think we should improve. We need to play players in their correct positions, i.e. Dudley.

I think we will win 3-0 but what's worrying me is the attendance about 1600 to many stay away fans at the moment we must win them back it could be difficult with so much football being played around here IE Airbus, connah's quay..

You raise a good point, particularly given that we now offer the same standard of football at double the price.

The gates are a worry, but if we can challenge at the top of the table and win a few home games which we havenât done for years then they should increase.
I know this Saturday is a retro theme day, but I donât think that is going to add any onto the gate.
We really need to start advertising games better and run competitions to win tickets.
When you log into the official website, the upcoming homes games should be immediately visible like on most other clubs websites, but there is nothing on there!

With Gloucester getting off to an impressive start I expect another difficult match, but despite that this is one we must be winning. We need to start turning these draws into wins as although itâs great to still be unbeaten, we need to cut out our silly habit of scoring own goals.
On Tuesday we came away from Kettering Town with a 1-1 draw as an Akwasi Asante penalty salvaged another late point. The first half was an even affair as there wasnât a great deal in it, but admittedly we were second best in the second period. Kettering had a few dangerous spells, but we improved in the last 10 minutes to force a draw.
Gloucester City will be making the trip from Gloucestershire with a lot of momentum. A lot of people have tipped them to struggle, but they are sitting in the play-off places at this early stage following a 1-0 win away at Blyth Spartans, an impressive 1-1 draw against Altrincham, and on Tuesday they came from 2 goals down to beat struggling Kidderminster Harriers 3-2. Our opponents were playing National League South football last campaign, but during the Summer they were forced to switch across to the National League North due to them being the most Northerly club in that league. Gloucester have been âhomelessâ for the past 12 years as back in 2007 there were two huge floods at their Meadow Park home which left the stadium submerged in water. They obviously couldnât return to the stadium as it was shut down, so from 2007-2008 they groundshared with Forest Green Rovers at The New Lawn. Meanwhile, from 2008-2010 Gloucester moved to the Corinium Stadium, home of Cirencester Town, whilst from 2010-2017 they moved to Whaddon Road to groundshare with Cheltenham Town. Finally, from 2017 onwards Gloucester have groundshared with Evesham United at the Jubilee Stadium. Plans for a brand new stadium at the site of their former Meadow Park home have been submitted, and Gloucester hope to move to their new ground during this season.
Tomorrowâs match has been dubbed as âRetro Dayâ so hopefully we will manage to mark this occasion with another win, as we beat Darlington 3-1 last time. Itâs obvious that Gloucester are up there for a reason so we must get into them from the off to record another home win. Come On You Blues!
Score: Chester FC (Gary Roberts, Waring) 2-0 Gloucester City
Attendance: 1,758 (84 Gloucester City)
My predicted lineup: Griffiths K.Roberts Livesey Grand Taylor Jackson G.Roberts Stopforth Dudley Asante Waring
COYB!

Chester (Asante, Livesey) 2-1 Gloucester (Mahon OG).
Attendance: 1932
Asante needs a goal from open play and soon, does that, and hopefully we can see the form from the back end of last season.

This. I reckon Andy is one Nah. Our entrance fee is par for the league, the point was more about the standard and what that costs relates to the âvalue for moneyâ aspect for the non-hardcore UTS has a persistent recruitment line - calling out the 1400 fans who are not attending from the last time we were here like thatâs somehow going to make a difference.

I don't think this will be as easy as it appears on paper but I think another solid, if slightly uninspiring performance, will net us a 3-1 win.
Some interesting odds on Skybet for anyone remotely interested:
Chester to win 4/6 Chester to score 3+ goals. 15/8 Chester clean sheet. 7/5
