I'd like to see a firm referee for this match. The ref last year allowed some dreadful tackles to go unpunished.

Just an update as far as alcohol sales are concerned tomorrow.
Unfortunately there will be no alcohol sold in the kiosks tomorrow.
Don't shoot the messenger.
I have asked D+A if they will be operating the mobile bar tomorrow in the Blues Bar to avoid congestion.

If so they must be expecting a good turnout..

Let's hope that they come to play football this year and not kick us off the park as they did last year. Matty Hughes, 3 goals would be ample revenge!

First time in a long time I feel a bit nervous about a game. It feels like a 6 pointer to me today, eventhough it's very early days.
Two seasons ago relegation was assured from the word go and although last season was an improvement it never quite felt like we had a really crucial game.
Big games like these will help bring the crowds back.

Big games like these will help bring the crowds back. Let's hope you're right Bambi. I seem to remember our trip to Chorley last season as being a contest between two of the better teams in Conference North. Lovely sunny day without most of the ill-feeling that existed in previous encounters and a game in which we were on top for the most part. My thoughts as I made my way into Chorley town centre (which was nicer than I expected) for some decent fish and chips was, naively, that we would win the league. Unfortunately the injuries to Stopforth and Hughes were probably the reason that never happened. Even a draw today wouldn't be a disaster. I would be disappointed if the crowd wasn't at least 2,500 though.

This is certainly our biggest match of the season thus far so hopefully we will record our 3rd consecutive win today. The last time we got hyped over such a fixture was when Stockport County trounced us 6-0, but since then we have assembled a team that has proved to be very hard to beat. As I said on Saturday, at the back we are looking very solid, whilst at the other end we are scoring goals which is a big plus.
On Saturday we came back from Kidderminster Harriers with an impressive 1-0 win as we performed superbly. We dominated the first half and should have been about 4 up at half time, but it was just Matty Hughes's nice finish that separated the two sides. Kidderminster were better in the second half as they gave it a go, but we remained comfortable to secure a huge result.
Hereford FC will be making the trip from Herefordshire managerless, despite sitting 4th. Marc Richards was fired after just 3 games where they won 1, drew 1, and lost 1 which is not at all bad. From what I know he should have been sacked at the end of last season (like what should have happened to Jon McCarthy) as the majority of Hereford’s fanbase had enough of him. It’s also pointless for the board to back him during the Summer and sack him just 3 games into the season when they hadn’t even started off badly. Head of football Tim Harris has stepped in as caretaker manager and has done well so far, as he is yet to lose a match. Hereford FC were reformed back in 2014 as the old Hereford United went out of business. Just like what happened when we reformed, Hereford won 3 consecutive promotions which took them to the National League North last season. A lot of their supporters were expecting another promotion push, but they had a disappointing campaign as they finished just a few places above the drop zone. Things are looking a lot brighter for them this time out though, as they sit in a strong position in the play-offs.
Our atmosphere at Kidderminster was immense and we need to emulate that today as it really does make a difference. Hereford will take a strong following with them, and due to us winning on Saturday a few more of our supporters may feel inspired to come. We have made the Deva a fortress so far so let’s continue that today. Come On City!
Score: Chester FC (Asante, Dudley) 2-1 Hereford FC
Attendance: 2,684 (726 Hereford FC)
My predicted lineup: Griffiths K.Roberts Livesey Grand Taylor Jackson G.Roberts Stopforth Dudley Hughes Waring
COYB!

What a performance Saturday, and what a different a fit Matty Hughes makes. We need him contracted ASAP. Our huge dip in form last season coincided with the injury of him and Stopforth, two players that will have a bit part to play this year.
I’m going 2-1 Blues today, with our attack having too much for them. I think we have two of the best forwards at this level in Dudley and Hughes, with Waring up there himself. 2911 attendance.

Big game. A draw will continue our solid start with another win will make a big statement.
I'll go 1-1 with Jackson for us. 2485 in attendance with about 600 of them.

2-1 Asante and Hughes and 2749 with 700 away support/ expect a nail biter. My only worry is when we get a crowd after a good run we usually bottle it. Hopefully this team are different.
