It's a real headache that one. On one hand, it's true Brad has been on fire and assisting for fun lately, but on the other, could young Matty keep out their star winger Johnson? I would start with Brad there, with Matty on the bench and see how things pan out. Possibly give Elliot a chance out wide, or Mahon.
One thing's for sure, we need to show up and get through this tie. There's serious money to be made and this team has a massive opportunity to do that. Last 4 seasons exits have been beyond bad.
I understand the hesitation but Jacko is a winger, when he was playing further back he struggled at times. Matty is a full back, a more defensive player & IMO is a better full back than Jacko. Matty proved himself very capable of dealing with more senior opposition players several times last season & with Livesey & Grand next to him to help coach him there’s no doubt in my mind that he should get the nod.

Oh please, please, please not Mahon. We've been going on now for a while about the pace in the side. Bring in Mahon with his beating the same man 3 times and he will completely destroy this pace and movement by holding the ball to long. Even the managers don't bring him on from the bench now.

All of sudden this is a massive football match, we finally have a team that can go on in the cup and make this club some real money. To many times in the past we have gone out with a wimper against teams no better than us or had such a poor team we had no chance of progression. I would bring in Matty Thompson right back and keep Jacko on the wing, with plenty of options to come off the bench. Win this and we are two games from round 1 - we have only reached round 1 once since reformation - would be a great time for another cup run as the club has a buzz about it at the moment with the managers getting the best out the players on the pitch and in turn the players putting in the performances. Agree with this. Just wonder if we could let him go out on loan somewhere?

Mahon's been here what, seven years, and I still haven't really made my mind up about him!
I think "why isn't Mahon in the team?" has become a go-to argument over the years whenever we're not playing well, and almost a crutch in that it probably overlooks a bigger problem. Right now is one of the first times I can remember when we've been playing well without Mahon in the side, and I think even his biggest fans will concede that he's never really been consistent enough for us, especially given how well Jackson is playing at the moment.
That said, he's certainly not a bad player to bring off the bench in a tight game.
