Just read that they have resigned from the Cheshire League Premier and folded the first team citing not being able to field a team by the end of the month after a number of their players have been approached and offered money to play for other teams.
Sad day for local football, enjoyed playing against them back in the day always competitive and combative and they have produced some good players through the years.

I don’t think it’s the end for BYCFC. They still have a decent youth set up and I think they have other senior teams in Chester & District. It’s just a shame that team has been broken up. Arguably one of the most successful Blacon teams ever. And they were playing at a decent standard. This has been the outcome for a few local clubs over the years. The pull of £25 per game from some tin pot club in the welsh second division can prove tempting.

To see chester sides fold for the team to go and play welsh third division football is sad to see.

The standard is WAY different my son played for Blacon youth club a few years ago and usually held his own (west Cheshire league) if we ever lost it would only be by the odd goal remember going to watch him play against Vauxhall motors reserves mid week under floodlights they played most of their first team from the Conference North probably due players back from injuries etc anyway we were battered 7 or 8 without reply. Remember him saying dad I think I've found my level.
