I feel that although Glendon is a good player at this level that he doesn't really fit in with our style of play, goes backwards and sideways and slows the play down too much. Probably fit in well with other clubs but we are better when we press the opposition and move the ball quicker. i've done a quick comparison of playing with and without Glendon to see if my assumption is correct. Others amongst you may read the results differently. Be interesting to hear your thoughts Without Glendon P9 W6 D3 L0 F19 A5 Pts 21
Avg % 66.6 33.3 0.0 2.11 0.55 2.33
With Glendon P15 W6 D5 L4 F26 A20 Pts 23
Avg % 40 33.3 26.6 1.73 1.33 1.53
These stats show every percentage, apart from drawn games, to be worse
But then stats are stats and can be read in different ways.
Not that i blame him for all our ills, they are many, but i feel he is a contributing figure

You think Glendon's current playing style is his own call? No influence from Bern or Jonno? He's our most talented midfielder in possession, with more goal involvements than all our other midfielders combined, with GPS stats to prove his workrate out of possession too. (All taken from Jonno's tweet this afternoon, linked below)

I like Glendon and think it's probably in his own best interests to stick with us for the rest of the season, rather than trying to break into an established team in a higher league elsewhere. He'd be better off staying with us and performing well, where he's obviously appreciated by the managers. Would I break the bank to keep him with us? Probably not, but if we can make a small budget adjustment to keep him then I'm game for that.

I don't understand this obsession against Glendon. Technically, him and Asante are the best in the squad by a mile. The lad has had offers from the National League where he'd most probably get more money but he's decided to stay with us..

I too get frustrated with him slowing down our game. But if he really has that many assists and given it’s probably only a matter of time before we get hit by injuries etc then let’s go for it. But let’s not break the bank. It wouldn’t be the end of the world if it doesn’t work out.

One of the things that Glendon brings to the side is his accurate passing, he may slow the game down slightly by picking his passes but I’ll happily take that over constantly giving the ball away, nothing frustrates me more.

This is almost like Deja Vu when we were discussing Sean McConville a few seasons back.

This is almost like Deja Vu when we were discussing Sean McConville a few seasons back. And Rooney who is now on fire at Barrow.

I am happy to go along with the Managers on this one they want him to stay so if he wants the same then so be it, but what we really need at the moment is a goal scorer we only have one at the club and when he’s missing we struggle. We have players who can make the chances for Asante but non of them seem able to put the ball in the net regularly when he’s missing, and of course the biggest problem we have is lack of money to bring someone in.

Looks like we might be about to bring someone in anyone want next week’s lottery numbers😂

This is almost like Deja Vu when we were discussing Sean McConville a few seasons back. And Rooney who is now on fire at Barrow. The difference with Rooney and McConville is that they both have goals, in their game Rooney is more of a Number 10, but McConville is an attacking midfielder who has a knack of arriving, in the box late. Both are better suited to playing; in 3-5-2 or 4-5-1, as both players need to be somewhat free of defensive duties; in order to be able to drift across the midfield to create.Personally, I always rated both and its no coincidence that we achieved our highest position with both them playing.
