I really couldn't care less who finishes higher or lower. The problem both sets of fans should be more concerned with is that we're both stuck in this league and have no hope of getting out thanks to hobby clubs like FGR.

Probably a truer test of how good Wrexham now are is how they get on at Dover next week. They've done well in a series of home games against mainly struggling sides lately but only won a couple of away games all season.

Yes good point, Wrexham have been terrible away from home all season. I can't see Wrexham winning next weekend at Dover but if they do will you boys consider Wrexham for a late play off push ? The conundrum that is John Rooney.
Despite his little purple patches he generally looked average under Burr and more so under Mills from what I gather, but Macca and now Keates seem to be able to get the best out of him.
He'll probably do enough to earn a new contract and then he'll go back to looking average again next season.
I think the only thing we've missed from him are his freekick goals, but we're a better team without him imo.

Don't worry, I've reported him. Wrexham get so high when they're 2 places above a 'pub team.'

Just under 3800 at the Racecourse today. Happy with that against a bottom 4 side. Surely a club of Wrexhams size should be getting 6000+ 3800 is very poor.

Had a beer pre match yesterday with a staunch Chester fan and season ticket holder who then went to Turf for drink with Wrexham lads including Keiron Torrens....did more to build bridges than any media crap...was pre arranged and was a nice touch all round

Zipper, carry on like you are and we will sadly have to ban guests. Hopefully your Wrexham fan friends can influence you into behaving otherwise it'll be registration only.
You've been reported multiple times already

Some excellent exchanges between both sets of fans, which is good to see. I'm slightly baffled however as to why no one has commented on the fact that we have a game in hand, plus a considerably better goal difference. With that in mind they are not, technically speaking, above us, on the basis that all matters are not equal?
Yes, better to have the points in the bag etcetra, but: the fact remains - they have played one game more, hence more points.

I think we've got excited to finally go above our neighbours, no need to start banning people. I must admit that the team prior to the new year was the worst Wrexham team I've ever seen in all my life, it doesn't say much for the league when we bring in 5 or 6 players and we start looking like a team. where is sir Fred by the way ?

Taking a broader approach, I'm genuinely proud that both clubs are where they are taking into account the phenomenal effort from the fans. We have both been 'shafted' by a variety of individuals and are operating in a division which is increasingly being dominated by unsustainable, debt-laden outfits.
In years to come we will look back on the Rooney-saga - and Mind the Gap - and smile. It is great that we are able to have these classic derby moments again after everything we have been through.

I despise the behaviour of a small minority of both sets of fans, sets that only seem to come out during games against each other. I have family, friends and work mates that support Wrexham and I enjoy the rivalry. Hate losing to them of course

He's been talking about Chester this season thou, maybe it's because you've been better than us up until the last 5 weeks.

I work regularly in Wrexham with their fan's and even have family married to wxm season ticket holder family....trying our best to cut her out the family will Believe it or not most of em are bloody nice people who support their team.I remind them their deluded, they remind me were a pub team(even though were in the same league ...no harm done,it's friendly rivalry.Probably have more in common as fan's of lower league team's than we'd like to agree.

A Goat on Red Passion seriously asking if 'Jester' have ever finished above Wrexham in any league. I can recall us being a division above them for seven successive seasons in the McNally years for starters...

Don't understand what's going on here. It's like the lunatics have been confined to the asylum and peace has broken out. Very refreshing to see reasonable banter and some common sense. Not getting carried away with our recent form against lower league sides but at least we've got the points we needed. Keates has transformed the side in ability and work ethic and it's looking more promising. Got some good Chester fans as friends, we still haven't killed each other and I'll look into this board regularly to see if the tone continues.

Yes, we were relegated from League Two into the Conference, a division that Wrexham had plummeted into a season earlier.

I think the other area of common ground that we have both adopted recently is that of managerial appointments. Both are very refreshing in the sense that they not 'big name' managers at this level, with lots of baggage/ associated high expectations (note: we dodged a bullet re: Ronnie Moore). They are internal recruits and most importantly are people who understand the business model / ethos that is being promoted by the respective boards.
This approach is vital as we both seek to strengthen our position in this division, against the headwind of diabolical clubs such as FGR, Eastleigh and - soon - AFC Fylde.

With the amount of Premier League bandwagon jumpers about, anyone supporting their hometown/city club should be applauded.

Amazing to think that Wrexham, a fully professional club with 145 years of experience, are only 2 points ahead of a part-time club formed 6 years ago. That's real progress for you
