May not seem like it, but I feel that's a really big win today after going behind. Back to back wins have got to give the players confidence to set up our run in to the final 12 crucial games of the season.

If only we had a few more points we could have a real chance of top spot. It's a bit of a lottery otherwise, as we know too well

Great away win in awful conditions and we’ve still got more people commenting on players from the 1970’s than what’s in front of us.
Typifies some of our fan base.
Farsley was a shit hole, like a Sunday league pitch with a fence around it. Some 3 points.

I agree to an extent but other than "great win that", there isn't much more you can say, especially if you weren't there. Bad results are sadly always more likely to get people talking.

I reckon we need to win 9 out of the last 12 to get third place As Cal has made no secret of since he's been here, the aim is 1.66 points a game. 10 pts from every 6 games. That puts us in the play offs. There's no point setting expectations that are completely unachievable. 3 pts from the next 2 and we're still on target. Get in the play off and we can set up to beat anyone. Winning 9 out of 12 (2.25 per game) is great, but it's not realistic that would be the best form any team in this division has had all season (only Liverpool, Leicester and Chesterfield in the entire pyramid have more points per game) Throw a draw in there and it's the best form any team in the country has had across the season.

The team that wins it is the one that finds form at the right time and doesn't crack under pressure. Last year we put in arguably our poorest performance of the season when it mattered most. Hopefully we've learned from that experience, we're certainly better at home, and if we can finish 3rd and potentially have two home games, we've got a real chance.

I thought we were pretty good throughout the 90 minutes, difficult to look any better than that in the conditions and on that pitch. Farsley were a fair way second best, which is good because they are better than they usually are this season.
Tollitt backing up his confidence, felt like he was taking ownership of the situation, like it was his personal mission to get us through it. Whitehouse similar, barking out instructions all game. Okeke passed a test, he’s been left out on these gritty away days up to now. Very good, particularly first half when more involved.

Need to get Tollitt in next season. Quality in this league and the one above Wouldn't be financially prudent, he's on absolute fortunes at Oldham (as are pretty much their entire squad). Wouldn't surprise me if whatever small percentage of his wages we're paying to rent him is more than what anyone else on our squad is on.

If they aren't going to keep him then he has to take the next best offers, whatever they are, even if miles below what he's currently getting. He can't demand it from a non-existent club. If he doesn't fancy travelling or moving then we're in a good position.
He's making hay for as long as possible with his current deal, he'll know that more than anyone.

Actually worth pushing the boat out for because the lad can make a real difference onthe pitch. He could be the difference between going up or staying down or vice versa if we get to the National League.

Hopefully Cal has learnt from last years experience, I personally think after the Buxton performance in our last home league game, and how well we played winning that game 3 or 4 nil, then going into the Brackley game making various changes and bringing back all the rested players was a mistake. I also think we worry far to much about the opposition in the big one off games and set up accordingly, rather than let them worry about us. I won't mention the threat of penalties either. We will without any doubts make the play offs, after that it's not a lottery, or all about luck. It's about us, and how brave we are trying to win the big games rather than being scared to lose.

Can't believe we went 1-0 down. Their keeper is making a decent save from our first break and 20 seconds later the ball is somehow in our net. After that, we were the better team throughout, on a pitch that didn't suit and deserved the win. Tollit was MoM for his non-stop running and he has that extra quality, as demonstrated with that superb free kick. Was surprised with the penalty decision and red card. Looked more of a shoulder block than arm by their defender, but we'll take it. Another one that continues to impress me is Nathan Woodthorpe. Solid, plays it simple and combative.

Facebook has an excellent report from Farsley fan David Pearce on the Non league forum which made me laugh, the other end of the scale was the ramblings of the Farsley assistant manager after the game which was cringeworthy at best. Great win which keeps us where we want to be, roll on Tuesday.

Interesting incident after one of the goals with Cal have a lively discussion with a spectator.
The debate culminated with Cal pointing out the design deficiencies of the bloke Puma’s.

Very important win. We were full value for the three points over the course of the 90 minutes, as we dominated the majority of the game and played some great football. It was very much like the Banbury United match, in the sense that we had lots of possession, but thankfully this time we managed to get over the line. Was always going to be difficult on that bog of a potato field, plus it really lashed it down in the second-half, but I’m so pleased that we managed to beat a lower side away from home for the first time in a while. The pleasing thing for me is that it wasn’t really a case of an ugly win. We played some attractive and expansive football on that pitch, which is something we’ve struggled to do many times, so hopefully a sign of things to come away from home. Could’ve won by a couple more with the chances we had, so good to see.
Farsley Celtic broke the deadlock very early on, as we switched off at the back having had a great chance of our own 20 seconds before the goal. Was a similar start to Warrington Town away, but fortunately we didn’t let our heads drop, and we responded really well. It was the first time I watched Ben Tollitt in a Chester FC shirt, and he really didn’t disappoint me one bit either. He netted an absolute peach of a free-kick for our equaliser, as he bended the ball around the Farsley wall into the top left corner to make it 1-1 in outstanding fashion. He isn’t afraid to shoot, and has an absolute rocket of a shot on him, so I’m excited to see much more of him. Elliott Whitehouse bagged his third penalty in as many games to win us the clash, so a brilliant three points all around, which keeps us in third.
Sides in and around us won last Saturday, so it’s important that we won as well to have a little bit of a cushion on eighth-placed Curzon Ashton. Scunthorpe United dropped points again, so if we can keep on winning and they keep wobbling, then we absolutely should aim to finish second, to give us the best possible chance of winning the play-offs. Obviously it’s far from over yet, but we’re hitting form at the perfect time. The acquisition of Ben Tollitt will be huge in the business end of the season. Can’t wait for Scunthorpe away next Saturday - it’ll be our biggest away league match of the campaign, but of course we have two more crucial games before that though.
Thought that Jid Okeke put in a very impressive performance on a poor pitch. He made some great touches, wasn’t afraid to put balls into the box, and coped really well in the conditions. Offered himself as an outlet far wide, too, which is something we lacked earlier on in the season. Barring a lapse of concentration in the opening minutes, our defenders won pretty much everything in the air and put in a committed performance. Ben Tollitt was impressive to watch, as well. He made things happen and scored a screamer to level the encounter. An enjoyable day out all around, and I’m so made up with the three points. Looking forward to Hereford FC tomorrow night - no reason why we can’t do ‘em!

Any highlights of this game anywhere? Seems like Farsley only put them on YouTube when they win. They've got last night's up but not Saturday's.
