Fuming. After exiles have booked travel and time off work, and after Solihull & Eastleigh already this season. Supporting Chester FC, it's money down the drain.

I think it's a good move. Lots would want to watch England so why lose fans to England game. Some people just like to moan for the sake of it. Understand the ones who's booked flights, trains etc but what's done is done. Let's all get down there and make some serious noise and stuff them goats.

Will this also mean there is no game on Saturday? Always hate a game free Saturday but if on day before can understand. With this now 4 days before and being midweek will we get another fixture in?

Utter bullshit decision for me personally as I now cannot go to the game. Committed to something else that I cannot move now, especially at this late notice I never book stuff for Tuesday nights just in case. When do we ever play on a Wednesday? Really hacked off.

For those who live locally I suppose it isn't a problem. For the exiles it must be a nightmare!

That's another two off the gate that we're coming with me aswell, few beers before and after the game around town was what swung it for them on a Friday night, unfortunately they now cannot commit to Wednesday due to work and parenting commitments.
There's another £100 the club has lost

Unless a friendly is arranged against another club (which I doubt will happen) then there will almost certainly be no game on the Saturday given everybody else in the National League apart from Wrexham will be playing at the weekend.

It's a requirement for all clubs to move games for TV if BT wish. You can't say no, sadly. Exactly what I said on the other thread on this subject TV now calls all the shots even at our level Hidden somewhere in the contract fine print will be some phrases that enable BT to do exactly this and clubs have to tow the line if they want the "enormous" match fees that BT and the League have negotiated. Therefore I think it's a bit unfair to levy criticism at the club, the focus should be on the governing body and BT That said, I still don't buy the "increased exposure" line from Maguire, I'd be more accepting if he'd gone public on the club's unhappiness with the decision but, then again, even a quote like that could possibly come back to haunt us in the current climate, BT might just hold a bit of a grudge for example. Spot on, TV companies essentially run football now. Just look at the Premier League game this weekend between Brighton and Everton - originally scheduled for the Saturday, it's now been moved to a 1.30pm kick off on Sunday for broadcasting... by Star Sports in India. Won't be live on UK television but PL have sold it to India so Everton fans will have to leave at 6am.

I wonder if we'd already had tickets printed with the original date

Even though I've pre paid for my season ticket, Given the late change of date from Friday to Wednesday for the Chester v Wrexham match I believe the attendance of Chester fans will be a bit embarrassing as it will be low, I think Chester fc should reduce ticket/admission prices for this game otherwise the football world will see a half empty stadium which will be embarrassing for the club make it £14 to sit and £11 to stand otherwise will only be 2,000 chester fans and 1,000 odd Wrexham will be embarrassing

Club need to move quickly on shifting tickets. We cannot rely on the 'draw' of the fixture to bring people in now it's a televised game.
We need a full house and a big atmosphere, but it won't happen without a bit of thought.

We need a full house and a big atmosphere, but it won't happen without a bit of thought. The crowd will probably limp up to around 3,600-3,700. The Dagenham game on 25th November, with a 12.15 kick off is looking a potentially awful gate in front of the BT cameras . . . maybe some sort of initiatives needed for that one.

There's going to be another Merseyrail guards strike on November 8, probably meaning all services end at around 7pm - a bugger if you're a fan living in Wirral or Ellesmere Port.
