I agree that 1-7 against Brighton was pretty shite. Wayne Brown threw one in his own net and had an absolute nightmare. I think we went down by 1 goal difference, so Wayne Brown did for us that day. The 0-1 home loss to Carlisle against 9 men was pretty shocking too. Ah yes I remember it well. Me and my dad walked out not long after half time. Didn't a certain Bobby Zamora get a hat trick for Brighton that day ?

The other one one that stands out for me is the hammering at Altrincham a few years ago. Left after an hour it was that bad. We didn't half see some disgraceful performances under Burr and the other cowboy.

Altrincham, New Year’s Day 3 or 4 seasons ago. Miserable weather (and they made us stand in it), miserable performance....miserable day all round.

In recent times Wrexham away when we got hammered 3-0. Absolute disgrace. Alabi with the worst performance from a player I’ve seen in years that day too, Torquay away 2 seasons ago too on the Tuesday night. Awful. Remind me what happened at Torquay. At least that game brought about the sacking of Burr, although the nightmare continues.

There have been so many gutless performances over the last 3 seasons that it's hard to pinpoint just one. The last always seems the worst, though.

I remember a game against Braintree we lost 3-0 we were three down after 20 minutes or was that welling Braintree. Lost 3-0 and we had more sendings off (2) than shots on target. We lost to 10 man Welling 2-0 that season if memory serves. Both dreadful performances I'd obviously agree with the aforementioned Carlisle (4-1 and 5-0) games and Leyton Orient (1-5) not to forget Dagenham (0-6 and 2-6) and Rochdale (1-6). Cheltenham in the cup replay 2006 always sticks in my mind because although it was only 0-1 with a TV game against Newcastle at stake we put in a display of a complete lack of pride, spirit or respect. Cardiff beating us 6-0 in the cup in 1998 is always up there in terms of ineptitude. I suppose what I'm trying to say is there is a hell of a lot to choose from! 😓😓

No mention yet of the 0-5 season opener against Barnet three years ago. We all thought we were in for a long season after that, but it turned out to be our best season to date!
If there is a positive we can take, a few of these "worst ever" performances were immediately followed up with good results. The 7-1 v Brighton was followed by a very good 2-0 win at Exeter, and we responded to the 4-1 at Nantwich with a 6-0 win against North Ferriby.

A fixture not mentioned on here so far is when we lost 3-0 at home to FC Halifax in August 2014 on a warm, miserable afternoon. I went to Gateshead on the first day last year which was pretty grim too.

I remember a game against Braintree we lost 3-0 we were three down after 20 minutes or was that welling That was the remakable game when we ended the game with a completely different back 4. Can't remember the exact details but of the starting back 4 ~ 2 were subbed and 2 were sent off. I think Kaye was sent off and Higginbottom came on.

Getting beat at home by Runcorn in about 87 - another early FA Cup exit... I was at that one as a Runcorn fan.

Last season against Witton Albion was shocking. Kane Richards struggling to trap a bag of cement and then getting stupidly sent off, Luke George trying to control a ball like it was a balloon and Jordan Chappel being his usual ineffective self stood out. Witton should have buried us that day. Lets face it CFC are hopeless when it comes to cup competitions in recent years. Yep that was dreadful. As was Alty in the cup and Southport in the cup the last couple of years. The cup has hardly been kind to us in recent years.

So after the shocking 2-0 defeat and cup exit to Kiddy, we’ll follow it up with a superb, battling 3 points against Bkreham Wood... ... right?

The defeat to Solihull this season was the worst performance I've seen from a Chester team, it was totally inept.

I remember travelling down to Exeter in 1998. We lost 5-0.
I can remember Psycho coming over to the fans at full time trying to apologise but was quite rightly met with a torrent of abuse.

At least there's plenty to write on this thread! For me, a Londoner, last match we played at Brentford. For me they are what Wrexham are to most fans. My brother and his kids all decided to come along. They aren't Chester fans and support Premiership London clubs. My son is a Chester fan and we feared a bad performance in front of family who find our support a bit weird, though having grown up they appreciate it. That day though was one of the worst performances. Gutless etc. And lost 3-0 I think. I know other cans at the time considered it one of the worst.

Was there for that one too at their brand new ground, I do pick them. Police were a disgrace that day, made us walk a mile in the opposite direction to my car after the game.

The Brighton game, as others have said stands out. There have been too many to mention over the last three years. Another that stands out for me was in the early days was the 0-6 home defeat to Crewe in the Pete Beale fruit and veg cup.

Any from the Gordon Hill era. The 3-0 defeat at Leigh under him was one of the worst displays I’ve ever seen - seem to recall Twiss impressing for Leigh that night. Other than CCFC’s final season, the early stages of the 2001-02 season would easily be the least enjoyable time I can remember supporting Chester.

Brighton away 0-6 with Mike Craven in goal 75/76. Penrith away Fa Cup. Torquay at home think it was during the 3 day week so no floodlights and played in the morning. Anyone remember that. And another one versus Torquay when Terry Cooper ex Leeds scored the only goal. Please confirm and amend to fit the facts. Peterborough at home when we went down the first time - was sure Posh tried their best not to win. I remember a dire 0-1 Home defeat to Torquay who had David Webb ex Chelsea as player manager. Both teams were awful, and I thought Webb scored. If it’s a different game then that’s a lot of of crap 0-1 Home defeats to Torquay 😳
