I wonder if he's looking in at us from outside and our perilous state and thinking, "I did that", or is he thinking "Marcus Bignot is making a right hash of that good squad I left him". I suspect the latter.

A lot of pepole used to come in here and tell us what a nice man he is. I will be honest the very mention of his name boils my piss. I hate the man

Totally outplayed the first half. Yjey hit the bar three times. Last three matches I've seen have been away wins for Chester and we've been fortunate in all - including last season's win at eastleigh

He has the same effect on me. The clown who lived off Sharps efforts had delusions of being a football manager and has almost destroyed this club with the help of those who were too blinkered to see what was happening because he was ' a nice man, he had a family, gave up a good job to come here' etc. I hope they are pleased with themselves.

Blinkered is definitely the word, it's almost as if those behind the scenes have been on a different planet to the rest of us.

I don't hate the guy. I find him frustrating, but I believe he did his best. I don't think he's deluded either - he knew he was failing at the job but didn't know how to address it other than harking back to things that happened in the past and changing the subject.

Didn't read the top line! Turned into whopper 3 briefly there, this lack of home form and points are clearly getting to me.

He's 40/1 to get the Gillingham job Even to get those odds somebody has had to have had a couple of quid on him! I wonder who!
P.S. Yet to appear on the Everton or Leicester odds listings

He just needed a few more games for it to 'click'...... His biggest problem was he was a nice guy - which meant he agreed to pretty much everything and deluded himself from reality. His lack of contacts was a huge factor in his shoddy recruitment and he had no real idea of how recruitment and strategy connected. To me he came across as a very knowledgeable fan of the sport. Clearly he had huge knowledge of the tactical side of the game but couldn't then translate that into anything tangible. I admire the fact he wanted to keep things positive but you can only do that for so long when things are getting tough - eventually you have to face up to reality. He will have to drop down to Evostik level (a bit like Darren Kelly at Hyde) if he is to pick up another managerial role. There's too many decent names out there for any club to risk taking a punt on him at our level.

The bloke gave it his all but ultimately he was found out tactically. His only tactic was to set us up as the away team, which did yield some results away from home although sounds like we had our fair share of fortune at times. That home record was dire though and he'd totally lost the plot in his press conferences. I can't see him managing at this level again purely down to his own incapability to handle pressure and awkward questions. He should stick to coaching, where I believe he was highly regarded, but management and recruitment are beyond his capabilities.

Forget JM, but being any football manager is a difficult job. Pre-season lots of you, and myself were looking at the players brought in and talking mid table comfortably. It hasn't panned out that way, so we sack JM and blame his tactics. However, we have a new man in charge now and he's struggling to change our results, so is it tactics or is it the recruitment which many of us actually praised? Bignot seems to think it's recruitment as we can tell but the number of players he's bringing in at this stage of the season, hoping they can make a step up!
I'm willing to hold my hands up and say looking at the team this summer, I predicted a finish of 14th before the season started, I'm sure I wasn't the only one either. Time to move on from slagging off JM, it won't stop us going down, what might is a bit of atmosphere and support tonight.

Fair point but the game plan was clear, let them have it in their own half, close them down & Harry them in our own. Break quickly & use the channels. It was one of the most enjoyable games I’ve ever been to.

We've no pace anywhere, and no-one ever ran the channels. Why can't we just play Aldershot every week? Life as a Chester fan would be so much easier.

Time to move on from slagging off JM, it won't stop us going down, what might is a bit of atmosphere and support tonight. I also thought that mid table was realistic given that we had an experienced core of the team. But there were concerns and they all came true - the lack of depth, particularly in defence and out wide, has left us extremely unbalanced and with a lack of competition. Also certain players had a recent history of bad injury records and that has carried on so far (Hannah, White). Some players were re-signed despite doing nothing to earn it (Davies, Chapell, Joyce) whereas that budget would surely have been better served signing another defender or two. And there were concerns about his ability to get the best of these players, given the way last season finished. Most of us were prepared to forget about last season following what looked like some decent summer business but we looked even more disjointed than last season and there was no sign of him turning it around. There's no doubt players have let him down, especially ones who came here with decent pedigree. Unfortunately the start has rotted their confidence and its down to Bignot to find a way of lifting them somehow. The buck stops with the manager though, this was JM's team that he had two pre seasons to construct and he was well backed in the summer.

It was a piss take I know, it just was good for a chuckle as some of the stuff posted at the time was so ironic. Think it's had its time now though and it bears little relevance these days. Parody accounts on the whole are annoying though simply because I'm gullible and take most things I see as the gospel truth! 😂

I wish McCarthy no ill feeling he was just well out of his depth. The dismissal should've been after the Sutton beating. He will be spoken about in the category as Pejic, Mathias, Rush and Smith.
Those supporters who are using strong words such as "hate" are sounding like those puerile and toxic Wrexham fans who made a 300 Mile round trip to shout abuse and bile at Mills. We are better than that!
