I've already said on the match thread that Dawson was my m-o-m, but his improvement has only been recent. Maybe the full time training and the squad staying away from Total Fitness is the reason. Staying away from total fitness has never improved my game😀 If you were a member of Total Fitness you'd know what I mean.

Chapell is the very definition of someone who flatters to deceive in my opinion. His technical ability is actually rather good, perhaps even of someone above this level. With his foot on the ball he appears neat and tidy and can have an effect in the right circumstance. He often looked quite effective as a late substitute stretching teams.
There’s something lacking with him though, I don’t think he shirks any defensive responsibilities as I’ve often seen him working hard tracking back but his downfall is that he’s just so unbelievably powderpuff. The amount of times we see him effortlessly bounced off opposition players is pretty laughable to be honest. He also constantly runs in to trouble up blind alleys whilst on the attack, seen him run in to brick walls too often.
There’s something there with him but he’s been here long enough now.

Good riddance to bad rubbish, not many players in my time watching blues i have no time for at all and he is one of the few on my list.
How on earth he has spent three years at this club is beyond me.

In all my time watching Chester I have never seen a player so petrified to put a tackle in or get hit by the ball.
Disgusting to think how much he has cost us in wages over what will be three seasons by the time his permanent departure finally arrives.

He's got zero upper body strength. That's one of his main problems tbh.

He played for them on Saturday and was subbed off with 20 minutes to go.

I am and I don't know what you mean? Do you go very often, lol. Not as much as I used to! Genuinely interested as to why you think it's increased their fitness by not going?

I honestly think most of the kids who play at half time could knock Jordan off the ball.
Three seasons and he’s done absolutely nothing of note.

Some of them will sit on bikes, the rest will either go to the café or stand around socialising. I do Body Pump and I always say that this class would benefit them more than just standing around and chatting. McCarthy would often be there with them. I presume that MB cottoned on to this quick smart and they now seem to be doing some proper training in Sealand or wherever they do it.. I think the consensus is that since MB arrived the fitness levels have definitely gone up.

I always thought the gym sessions were more of a warm down!? I think it's obvious some players at this level take fitness more seriously than others for example Hughes and Alabi. I used to see George Horan in there regularly and the fitness levels of our truly part time players in the early years of our reformation was far superior to some of the players we have had in the last two or three years.

Spot on. I remember George Horan when he was there and would be on the rowing machine. Even going back to our FL days there would be players in there working hard. It was probably because McCarthy was a soft touch.
