Looked a level game until Smith and the tail has given them a lead.
Cook looks out of touch and has just gone, going to be very tough as England’s batting line up doesn’t convince me.
Aussies are trying to rough us up, unfortunately a lot of lads aren’t used to this barrage back home. What a silly boy Ben Stokes was as he is the big miss in this side.

I’m still looking forward to having a middle order of Stokes, Woakes and Foakes! Maybe next season in glorious England.

I predict England to make around 270-290 in the second inns, whether you boys get them in a fourth inns will be solely down to how many Smith makes as I really don't fear anyone else with the bat.

It was all going so well too. The batting needs to sort out all of this winkles and wonkles. Big hundreds win games, not just pretty little 40s and 50s.

A fairly demoralising defeat you'd think for England seeing as how evenly poised the match was on day 2, I think the importance of Cummins' innings with Smith can't be stressed enough. Happy to see Bancroft score some runs 2nd innings even though I was one that said Renshaw shouldn't have been dropped. England's bowling after Anderson and Broad is far too weak. Is Finn injured/Out of the picture?

Warner is a fine batsmen, you cant argue that Although considering myself as not a violent person, I simply couldn't decide who I would smash in the face first with a cricket bat between David Warner and Scott Davies. I think perfection would be to take a massive swing at them both and hit them simultaneously.

2nd test getting underway in Adelaide shortly, conditions could suit England a little better. We're currently in the midst of "the storm of the century" in Melbourne and I don't think the weather in Adelaide has been much better, expecting a rain delay at some point in the test. I think the first test loss will have been demoralising and all this talk in the press about Australia being bullies backs that up. Another win to Aus

Just woke and checked Test score. Australia have taken their 6 consecutive day's play. More convinced than ever that were looking at a whitewash. Putting them in wasn't a very good decision. Wouldn't be surprised if thet don't make 550 and force a follow on. Innings defeat beckons.

Quite surprising how evenly poised the match is heading into the final day, I think we should win but it should have been a lot easier (I.E. should have enforced the follow on)

The only way it won't be a whitewash is if the Aussies take their foot off after winning the third test.
England must have more 5-0 whitewashes than any other 5 test playing side. It's very disappointing. After all the ballyhoo yesterday they meekly surrendered and didn't even get to 250. Still no English player has scored a century. We're a team full of pussies. I was expecting better from Bairstow.

Joe Root has made an enormous fool of himself by saying England are still MASSIVELY in the Ashes. They are in it until the 3rd Test is completed. He's way out of his depth as captain and it's affecting his batting.
