Hello all,
As many of you have seen, me and a number of friends are looking to get the Harry Mac back to what it once was - no empty gaps, bouncing, vocal, flags waving.
We're already planning for next season and doing our best to try and purchase new banners and flags to get the Harry Mac an energetic and loud place again, to spur the players on.
This is going to cost though. Already 2 people have stated they would donate to help towards displays to improve atmosphere, and one person has already approached me with a donation.
I want to ask to the whole audience of Devachat to see who would want to donate, any amount, towards improving the Harry Mac. No-one wants to see an empty, silent, lifeless HM; which lets face it, it has been exactly that this season.
I've added a poll, if you could vote & comment below. I don't want to sound a beg but I've have already had 3 people state their intention to donate and I can't afford displays by myself, so I'm just asking to get a scale of how many people would help. Literally could be £1, £10, whatever.
Thanks for reading and I hope you are as passionate as me to regain the atmosphere.

The groundsman has told me to tell you that there are loads of flags that never get used under the west stand so u don't need to buy new flags

I do admire you efforts, I was a 'yob behind the goal' once upon a time. Though I dont think the issue will be resolved by investing in some banners.
What happened to the big flags we used to wave at the start of every game in the first few seasons? There was a great Harry Mc flag as well. Sean the flag used to make them all but Iv not see him in a couple of years. All the flags dotted round the ground were done by him.

A lad who I know called Rhys has said that he's sorting it all. Yes I know Rhys and he has told me he will help with the displays. I'm the main one sorting everything but I've got quite a few people on board to help with it. We just need to raise the finance for it, which as you can see from this post is to hopefully come from a crowdfunder, which I will start soon. |

Should come join everyone in the middle sometime rio If the Ball boys were allowed to sit behind the goal I would, but I will show my support from the side I'm afraid. Before I was a ball boy I was in the Harry Mac a few times. I had to get to a match quite early as it would fill up quick. Extra kudos to the people who are trying their best to make the experience just as good. |

Awful idea. People now struggle to sing come on city, a big flag isn't going to do anything and these displays look crap unless it's full, like Lincoln for example which lets be honest we won't be selling out soon.
Lets face it, the atmosphere will never be as good until we are competing for that title again.

I don't get how people can be bringing this idea down you moan about how bad the atmosphere is etc but when they want to buy a banner and a new drum your in ripping it?

I get why in previous years as people got older they moved to the sides of the Harry Mac because there were younger kids wanting to stand in the middle, but with it being so dead why don't people move back into the middle? I'm not suggesting middle aged men start banging a drum but the Harry Mac looks terrible so sparse, is it a better view from the corner or something?

One thing that would help atmosphere, especially at big games, is a club song that everyone knows. Not an official one but just like Bristol Rovers have "Goodnight Irene" and Stoke have "Delilah". Closest we have at the moment is One Step Beyond.
