Seems the days where SB could take a joke have long gone.

Have to say it was pretty galling to see Corbyn congratulate Johnson in the Commons today.
That he did it with such dignity when they have mocked, derided and slandered him for years said everything about him.
He’s a statesman in a circus tent.

So, no deal is back on the table. Funny that, I thought Johnson had a deal ready to go?
Oh, and the pound has now quietly dipped down to lower than it was last Wednesday, without the fanfare it got when it shot up after the exit poll.
It's now entirely down to the Conservatives to sort out this mess - not just Brexit, but all the other things they say they can't do until Brexit is done. We can start with that extra £350m a week for the NHS, please.

In actual fact it sounds like it was a bit of an embarrassing night for our great statesman. The Tories will miss him.

So, no deal is back on the table. Funny that, I thought Johnson had a deal ready to go? He can throw his weight around a bit now can't he. He also knows a lot of the people who gave him such a 'thumping' victory couldn't care less if we get a deal or not - as long as we 'get Brexit done'. He can get away with threatening no deal if he doesn't get his own way now and he knows it. He's got a strong hand all of a sudden.

Classy! If it gets to number 1 does it mean that Corbyn gets to be PM instead? It doesn't mean anything, except to make a point about who we've democratically elected and that he doesn't represent all of us.
I've moved on from Corbyn now. Time you did as well.
Also, Jarvis has said proceeds from this will go to Shelter, so it is quite classy actually.

The only way Labour will ever win another General Election is if Boris makes a complete bollocks of it and Tony makes a come back.

It's fascinating how some Labour supporters are still blaming it all on Brexit - after months of denying warnings that Corbyn's Brexit handling was incompetent and would likely prove costly. Can't make their minds up can they!

Zac Goldsmith, what a story. Son of humble billionaire, at 23 made editor of a magazine (owned by his uncle), gets Tory nomination for leafy London seat at 32, loses the seat twice in three years,(also losing London mayoral race). Now elevated to the House of Lords. Truly, the British dream. Stolen, word for word, from Twitter.

Of the people seemingly throwing their hat in to the ring for Labour leader I'd vote for Keir Starmer or Yvette Cooper. Anyone who is seen as continuity Corbyn is out in my head. We need someone seen as statesman-like, serious and capable by as many people as possible. If that pisses off Momentum then so be it, they're not the electorate at large. They're not even the majority of the membership. I'd vote for Lisa Nandy too if she was up against a Corbyn ally.

Can't make their minds up can they! Just heard the Labour woman who was defeated in her seat in Westminster and also sadly has cancer. I was feeling for her until she said that Jeremy was a decent man. You really need to think before typing sometimes. Why bring a cheap shot at Jeremy Corbyn into something as tragic as that?

Wrong again! I was merely pointing out that some of those who defended what Labour were doing on Brexit now seem to be blaming the defeat on what Labour did on Brexit. Out of interest, what do you think they should have done on Brexit? Supported Remain, even though a lot of their voters wanted to leave? Or supported Leave, even though you've said a few times on this thread that you're a Remainer?
Not having a go, just interested. I'm not sure any stance Labour took could have won them the election myself. I'd rather blame the party that came up with this stupid polarising idea in the first place than the opposition for their stance on it.
Yeah I wanted to Remain mate and I agree that whatever they did, it would have been tough for Labour to win. However, I do think the position of neutrality was a dreadful idea and I said so on this thread. I think JC ended up losing the support of both Remain & Leave over that. Brexit lingered on forever and people wanted decisive leadership one way or the other. Positioning himself in the middle just looked like the sort of political game-playing you'd expect from Johnson - although I know his followers saw it differently. Labour dithered for too long and then chose a policy that made them appear unfit to lead. They'd have been better picking a side and leading it, instead of standing 'safely' on the sidelines.

Just listening to Richard Burgon the member for Leeds East. Despite the programme going to Stoke where all 3 Labour candidates lost their seats to Tory and said that toxic Jeremy, not Brexit was the reason these people lost their seats he insists it was Brexit. Re my previous post I need not have mentioned she had cancer because as someone who has recovered from cancer I sympathised with her. Honestly you people are sick. Big Si why didn't you deal with my complaint? What complaint?
