No takers this weekend? South stand was empty. 63 apparently - not sure where they were put though.

No takers this weekend? South stand was empty. Jim Green says plenty of interest but Saturday came too soon for schools, having to plan travel etc. Therefore didn’t open the south stand and placed them elsewhere in the ground.

South Stand wasn’t open again last night. Were you expecting it to be? I was told last night it costs £6,000-£7,000 just to open the south stand.

Genuine question:
Have you got details of how that figure is arrived at? Because it implies we need 400+ punters in it just to break even.

Speaking with a steward in the Harry Mac about it last night. Electricity bills, stewarding costs, catering costs etc. I was shocked at the cost too and we’d need half of the tickets used in just one game to make it worth opening.

Not disputing that's what you were told Danny, but I'm not having those figures. Electricity costs for a few hours would surely be nominal? Stewarding costs? I thought the stewards were volunteers doing it for free?

The steward also made reference to something about the FA involved in the costs of opening the stand.

So your saying it costs over £20,000 per Home game to open the stadium because of electricity? That can’t be true, where would all the money come from?
