No, 'Archie' was a good few years after Wayne Brown left. God, that was a depressing time, and the number of people who accepted it all as well! Crazy.
I think there was a rumour that Brown used to post though, possible under the name 'team sneak' or something? That may even have been in the days of the old, old Devachat forum, pre-2003, that was just a blue page where a list of posts appeared.

Ah yes Brownie was (allegedly) Team Sneak. Think he made it to the newer DC too though - back when guests were allowed to freely post.

Does anyone remember Stevecat, a Peterborough fan who started posting about the time Wright became manager there? I seem to remember he started off normal enough but then began taking the piss and it got to the point where he was hijacking more or less every thread, almost as if he was single-handedly trying to forge a Chester-Peterborough rivalry. He seemed a right wrong 'un!

I seem to remember he started off normal enough but then began taking the piss and it got to the point where he was hijacking more or less every thread, almost as if he was single-handedly trying to forge a Chester-Peterborough rivalry. He seemed a right wrong 'un! Unfortunately yes. Seem to recall he defended Mark Wright to the hilt while he was Peterborough manager, then took the total opposite viewpoint once he returned to Chester. I stumbled once upon another forum where he was giving our fans a right slagging off, seemingly oblivious to his own conduct. |

Used to be a guy that sat near us, my uncle knew him. Used to be a season ticket holder with his lad. Anyway didn't see him for a while till one night my uncle happened to put the Crewe game on the box, and low and behold there he was, in the crowd with his boy, both wearing Crewe shirts!

Mike Griffiths. Never afraid to speak his mind, and he was always pretty much bang on the money with his views. Always had a good argument to back up his claims and you found it very hard to disagree with him. One of the most loyal Chester fans I know too. I know he forcibly removed himself from Deva Chat mk1 but surely the bile that was spouted there and the over zealous moderating there too must have made it feel like the vultures were turning on him. Would be good to see him back here. Achmed Lad is also another one that was good for a laugh. Be good to see old faces return here. Sadly I believe "Griffo" passed away. Really? He logged into original DC two days ago? Got inbox from him in October. Good poster. |
