without sounding too negative should there not be an official annoucement from the club that Ross Thorpe has left his job ? or have i just missed the news from the club dave powell normally reports news of this nature and i dont recall seeing anything on his twitter feed either Believe Ross Thorpe is still available on match days so hasnt left as such. Not there during week which MB was referring to. Is Mick Moore still at the club?

Gutted to have missed this but sounds extremely positive. Great to see a lot of ideas spawning from the AGM.

You only have to look at this thread to see how much communication has improved in the past week. Board members, former chairman’s, community CEO and more all engaging with us on this thread. Good to see.

What's this about eight players names circulated to other clubs ?? Would imagine that it's the 5 players on two year deals plus Davies, Joyce and Chappel.

It felt like a relaunch today, albeit unsurprisingly a little lower key than the last meeting! In complete contrast to the Thursday night shambles the tone was very positive, board members and speakers spoke well, were professional and inspire confidence. Progress was reported to be extremely encouraging on a variety of fronts But the size of the task was not lost, and the meeting conveyed the necessary sense of urgency to raise money and ensure that he Club remains on a sound financial footing in the future. I was a little surprised to see the return of Jonny Hughes so soon after his previous performance , but maybe he can play a useful role on Commercial working group.
The need to spread the message of what is great about the Club to the people of Chester was passionately set out by Guy Lister, and the short presentation from Jim Green showed the great depth and reach of the Trust in the City which is fundamental to the success of the Club. There were some interesting comments from Marcus Bignot on the lack of first team infrastructure when he arrived, and in response to whether he would be here next season, MB compared it to the Job at did at Solihull when wining conf north with similar financial constraints . Although he pointed out this was with semi professional players whilst stressing that we should remain full time.

Thought the meeting was positive today, seems like the people on the board are extremely passionate and want to turn things round. The board members generally spoke well and gave an indication of how they are going to turn this mess around. There seems to be a lot of bright ideas being mentioned, but these need to be followed up. For too long we've expected the fans to just turn up. But even the most die hard fan has struggled to feel connected to this team. Our home form had been woeful for past few years and it has become a chore to watch. Creating a greater match day experience will help, the atmosphere at the ground needs improving. Pre-match entertainment, drinks offers, football on before and after the game, half time entertainment. Get people down the deva, create a buzz rather than spending the money in pubs in Chester. On another point, I'm not sure what to make of Bignot, the man is a charmer but he loves an excuse and always on the defensive. I know it's a tough job, but each question today was generally answered with the budget excuse. As a fan I don't want to hear excuses, I want the players to give 100% like Grenville said and then if that's not enough, we'll accept relagation. With 45pts left to play for and just 4pts behind we can't just accept relegation as a cert. Bignot needs to galvanise the fans.

Hiya, Think Johnny mentioned my name at the meeting as I'll be joining him on the Commercial Working Group. Hope to find out more about the size of the task on Monday but moving forward I want to try and repair some of these relationships with our sponsors and looking at ways we can re-engage with them and attract new customers as well! I think it'll be a massive challenge but I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in!

Are you able to elaborate on the reasons for this, when we had employed a reasonably paid CEO/commercial manager ?

I'm just going off what Neil Turner said at the CFU meeting last week about the previous bloke being poisonous. Will see what happens Monday And tbf I think Dave Harrington Wright said at todays meeting that he'd been trying to work out for the last 2 weeks what on earth had been happening on the commercial side !
