Anyone know what has happened to him? He went off during the cup game at Southport months ago, with concussion. I presume he picked up some sort of injury since then in training? Any guesses when he is back?
We do only have two recognised strikers otherwise!

Think I read somewhere he was running on it a few weeks ago.

On the few occasions that I've seen him he looks a hell of a player. Good strength for a young lad. If he'd have been fit then I reckon we'd have scored even more goals.

I read he will be lucky if he plays another minute this season. He showed some potential he has got so so unlucky with the injury.

Very impressed with him earlier this season. Not easy to come off the bench and make an impression but he certainly did. Just hope he can maybe fit in a few games before the end of the season. Exciting talent in my opinion.

He's exactly the kind of player we should be looking to sign. Assuming the injury is a one-off rather than normal for him.
He's got pace, runs at players and looks like he can score goals.
Let's face it, we haven't found decent strikers easy to come by in recent seasons, seems stupid to let one go. If he played against us everyone would be saying "why can't we get players in like that?"
Probably isn't on a big wage either. If he's fit it's probably a no brainer regarding a new contract. Alabi will be off into the football league. Richards hasn't really justified being offered a new contract. Akintunde looks the better option to me.

Must be close if he was running on the injury a few weeks back. I don't think we have really see enough of him yet, but I do recognise is he is only 20 years old and his only real football opportunities have come at clubs a couple of levels down from ours. If you're expecting an explosive striker I think you'll be mistaken, but he obviously has some potential.

Whilst I thought Akintunde looked a decent prospect earlier in season we don't want to be throwing contacts at injury prone players ! We have been bitten by Ross Killock , surely invite him to pre season and monitor fitness levels. Maybe need to look at pay as you play deals for some players.

Akintunde needs to be cut some slack with regards to this injury in my opinion. He doesn't look to have an extensive injury record in albeit a short career so far whereas Killock has previous. I think Akintunde deserves the chance to prove himself next season. Killock' situation is harder to justify.

Unfortunately with a tight playing budget only allowing for a small squad we can't cut players slack, we need everyone on field contributing ! I like Akintunde but he has been out nearly all season .

Agreed it is a difficult call for McCarthy bearing in mind that Akintunde has only played a handful of games and not knowing whether his injury has any long term effects. In all my many years of watching the Blues, I have never known a season when so many players have had injuries which kept them out of the game for so long.

There seems a lot of speculation that we're going to risk giving contracts to 3 players who have missed most of this season: Mahon, Akintunde and Killock. Can we afford such risks? I'd certainly get rid of Killock and possibly Akintunde.

I very much doubt Killock will be offered a new deal.
I'd probably give Akintunde one, he's looked dangerous when he's played and won't be earning a great deal.

Killock should be offered a new deal IMO. He has serious potential if kept fit. IF, IF. I believe he will come good and will move on to bigger and better things, whether that's with or without us.

Sorry but at our level there is no way we can risk signing injury prone players.with having a small squad we have really suffered. 3 long term injuries can hit us very hard when we have players suspended as well. We cannot risk signing players with fitness risks or players with a history of discipline issues

For me Akintunde is a yes. Mahon is a yes. George is a no. Killock is a real tough one especially as we will be losing Sam.
