To not fill the ground in a tie against Tranmere is a real concern, especially when tickets could be purchased online, on the day and picked up before kick off. Add the fact that this has been a reasonably successful season and I would like growth of gates next season to be the advertised main topic of the next CFU meeting and for all those that have voiced their opinions & ideas on here to make a concerted effort to attend the meeting. Think of it as a large scale brainstorming session on how we as a fans run club look to rectify what is a genuine worry and how we can all be a coordinated part of the solution. We should set an average gate target for next season, let's say 2,300 or 2,400 and then look to increase that year on year. There's clearly a growing apathy that needs to be arrested and quickly. But we need to approach it in a positive and constructive way, because pointing the finger at individuals and backstabbing is as big a danger to the future of our club as apathy.

We can all play a part, word of mouth is a massive thing we can all do... I saw some random Everton fan on Twitter saying he wanted more Chester fans to follow him, I followed him and said are you going tonight? It's a big derby under the lights! (I didn't say it was on TV don't want them sticking to being a typical arm chair fan!) they reply is there tickets still left? This was at Friday 3pm, an hour before ticket sales end, well very quickly he's got his tickets bought, he went to the game, enjoyed it and hopefully we've gained a fan. That's just me trying WOM, I've managed to get a young lad and his dad to go to a game they didn't even know about until 4 hours before kick off. If we could all do that..... just imagine.....

Did it really need to be an all ticket game? think alot of our fans just decide to go on the day.

How about relocating to Airbus? Suitable capacity wise and a boozer 5 minutes walk away.

Yes it needs addressing for next season but, and I really have to emphasize the point here. We need to address it for the Eastleigh game and all the remaining home games THIS season. You know, the 20K shortfall to make up, in order to do that it needs a mass marketing initiative and that means the CEO and Media team working together in conjunction with our volunteers to advertise this game in and around the area. That includes smashing it on social media, leafleting in shop/supermarkets/targeting university students/targeting families etc etc.

How about relocating to Airbus? Suitable capacity wise and a boozer 5 minutes walk away. How about re-locating yourselves to the League of Wales. Whilst your brethren in the South have shown themselves worthy of the challenge of the English league, North Wales only professional club don't really seem up to it and may benefit by playing in their own league? Just a thought.

I know extra things can always be done, but suprised no one has mentioned that there were about 200 people in attendance than last years game. Surely that's a positive??

The club shouldn't really need to do much to push ticket sales for games against Wrexham and Tranmere. I thought that the online ticketing would have added a few hundred last night, but to only have 2400 home fans for both of these games is shocking. I know last night was televised but I would love to know why we can't even attract the floating fans to games anymore? Because the match was on telly? It was wet, cold and windy and at £18 to sit in the cold would put the floating fans off. They could (and did) given the alternatives sit at home in the warm and watch it, or go to the pub in the warm and spend the money on beer and stuff without the need to travel. Which is exactly what me and 5 of my mates did. Sorry if some feel we are 'bad fans' but there were plenty doing the same in the pub, watching the team and enjoying a pint

I did hear a fan moan about the new car showroom open on bumpers lane and that he couldn't park on the curb anymore that may have put some fans off going the matches. I go to as many as I can given i work permant weekends/nights and to be honest the stadium is unfortunately in a right crap location and with less parking now with the new car showroom opening it feels like a battle just to get to and from the stadium during match days I can't say the same for most other away stadiums I've been too over the years. Nothing can be done about it but it does take a toll. I'd say there's not 1 simple reason for declining attendances but more a combination of frustration at being midtable, parking/traveling to and from stadium, cost of conference football, maybe some fans have had contract changes at work and now work weekends/some weekends and can't go to as many games, lack of advertisements.
I know the club don't seem to like giving free tickets away as they don't think people will come back, but can I just say I went to a few games when I was really young probs around 7-9 years old and although I never went again for about 3-4 years because I was young and supported lpool as all my mates did, I'd experienced CFC. When I was about 12-13 I then started going regularly and I've been going ever since, all because i'd been taken to CFC when I was young and it offered a different sort of experience to watching lpool on tv. Now I love CFC and go to lots of games not them all due to work though. L

Just my opinion but rest of the season: next season should be about getting all them school kids back in the stadium even if 80% don't come back later in life, I went as a kid and love it and that sowed the seed for me to then support cfc forever. Kids are the future and we need hundreds each game maybe 600+. Not saying it's easy for the club to organise or implement but it's absolutely crucial, I know some at the club think it's a waste of time but I only went 4-5 games around 7-9 years old then when I was 12-13 I've been most games ever since then to this day that's 16 years on the bounce all because I went a few games as a kid, when we know some games won't attract big crowds we need a full stand of kids. They are the future period.
