Anyone know why Harry Shite has been picked ahead of Archer over the last couple of months? I think we’ve got a potential 20 goal a season striker in Archer and I’d be really disappointed if he went in the Summer. He is exactly the kind of player we should be signing and selling on. Just feel he hasn’t been utilised well this year.

He is contracted next season but I believe he had an offer from another National League club recently, so clearly he is rated elsewhere.

Don't think he's anywhere near ready for this league...needs to hold the ball up better and improve his touch. He's under contract for next season, so hopefully he will kick on in a lower league. No doubt there is some raw talent there but whether he is a 20 goal striker I'm not sure. Compare him with the likes of Cook and Quigley and he's still got a long way to go.

I was starting to wonder whether there were any clauses in his contract regarding appearances / goals etc.
Regardless of whether he's better than Harry White, he is contracted for next season. He is a young player who will develop with games. If he played, we'd have a better player for next season. Not playing him is hardly going to persuade him to stay either, is it?

I think surely he has a clause in his contract that his wage increases with game starts or something because he is better than Harry *hite and imo he is good enough for us and will be a football league centre forward in the future. obviously the money is hard to trun down if someone in national league has offered it in our situation but I could see him being immense in the North next season if he stays.

I heard if he scores another goal he is due an increase in pay which may well explain his absence.

Perhaps two commas required but you obviously get the idea

I would play Archer blindfolded, with a broken leg ahead of white.

If we can possibly keep Archer next year, we should try and do so. He'll score goals next season and make us money in the future.
He's exactly the model of player we need to be looking at. Young, physically fit and with potential to improve. The exact opposite of Harry White.

Why does he play like a crocked 36 year old Sunday league player then? I think he is probably a nice lad and has given us his all, but HW is right up there with the worst players we've had. Absolute dross.

Difficult for strikers to impress if they don't get game time they need to play in order for others to play to their strengths hopefully next year he will get the game time and start banging them in

Yeah he signed a two-year contract when we signed him.

Jury is still out for me. Seen nothing to make me particularly pleased he was given a two year deal.
Obviously he's a better shout than Harry White and I'd include Ake in that too.

I think Archer has showed signs that he can be a good player and goal scorer if given the chances. You only have to look at the likes of Gilchrist (Southport) and Thomson (Harrogate) to see how they have benefited from dropping to National League North. I’m glad he’s under contract next season because I think he could be our 20 goal striker that every team needs.

I agree. I’d rather have him and Akintunde with a couple of new additions.

Yes i agree, Akintunde and Archer seem like a good partnership for NLN. Should be goals in those 2, just need to supply them with chances.

Aki has some potential but first touch and decision making need to improve.
