As we all sadly know Gary Allan tragically passed away during the Tranmere match. Gary was just 55 years old; I want to suggest we have a minutes applause in the 55th minute of our next game, against Eastleigh at home. I'm hoping everyone will stand up and applaud to show our respect for a true blue. "One Gary Allan, there's only one Gary Allan."
RIP Gary.

What a stupid suggestion to advertise Garry's death on an advertisement for a Football game.

Wouldn't be a good idea, but go a bit easy on Rio. He's only 14 and at that age I said and did some far stupider things than that.

I do apologise everyone, I never thought through it.I'll delete it but I thought you could put on the leaflet 'stand up and pay respect' in the 55th minute. Once again, I wholeheartedly apologise.

How will we know when it's the 55th minute? We could look at our watch or phone! Thanks, never thought about that. Or you could look at MBNA stand clock.

We could look at our watch or phone! Thanks, never thought about that. Or you could look at MBNA stand clock. Start your mornings with a coffee Rio. It'll help you think and post a bit clearer.

What a stupid suggestion to advertise Garry's death on an advertisement for a Football game. Was thinking the same, tasteless to say the least. Rio is just a young lad though trying to help.

A minute's silence before kick-off would be a lot more respectful. These things that start at specific minutes in the game can be a bit disjointed.

Personally, I think a minute's silence is more dignified although I would willingly applaud if that option is chosen Surely the Club would more than willing to setup a minute's silence - can't see why they wouldn't be

As a fan base we should all applaud in the 55th minute.

A minute's silence before kick-off would be a lot more respectful. These things that start at specific minutes in the game can be a bit disjointed. The minutes applause for a cat shows what can be done. however in this case a minutes silence pre kick off would be far more respectful.

I firmly believe we should have a minutes silence but as I've said we cannot organise that. However we can have a minutes applause during the game too.

Best to leave it to the club/family. I'm sure there will be a minute silence/applause at the start of the next home game.

I am not going to explain myself again. We cannot tell all the players and the refs to go into the middle at the start because we want to clap. That is something the club will organise.
We can, in addition, have applause in the 55th minute. This is SEPARATE to a silence/applause at the start which will be organised by the club.

whatever the club / family does we will go with it i still think a fair number will applaud in the 55th min if i remember right we gave danny harrison a minute applause in the 2nd half just after he lost his father in our first season back in the conference

When my family went through a similar thing earlier in the season, the club were in touch with us, as a minutes silence/applause has to be approved by the referee prior to the game. It was also the family's choice as which we preferred to do. Obviously this doesn't stop a minutes applause during the game, however as someone mentioned above without a scoreboard it could be a bit misjointed.

Also someone has suggested a bucket collection for his family. That would be a good idea.

I started off the Brutus clap so us lot in the middle of the Harry Mac can start and everyone joins in. I will just set a stopwatch on my phone when the second half kicks off, when it hits 10 minutes I can start and everyone joins in. Simple.

Right so we're doing a minutes applause before the Macc game next Tuesday night - how about we clap in the 56th minute on Saturday and we'll sing "There's only one Garry Allen" - I've seen a few Chester fans saying they are up for this just gauging opinion
Me and a few lads have put money together for a banner to be held during the applause before the Eastleigh game.

Does this mean we are abandoning the "Death Clap" at the start of the season?

I know something Offical is planned for Gary next Tuesday, but I think it would be a nice touch if we as supporters got something going at Saturday's game as well to honour him.
