It strikes me that the CFU do not know who hasn't renewed their membership. Surely there is a database of all members since 2010, with their addresses and email contact details maintained. Therefore can be used to send out reminders. Also, and I suspect it's probably related to the lack of a database, when arriving at the CFU members meeting last Tuesday we were asked to put our names and CFU numbers on a register. I was expecting the lad on the door to have a full list of paid up members to be able to tick off the names of the people coming in as they arrived. Further to this there were several mentions from the board that if you aren't a member then you shouldn't be here... it looked pretty amateurish if I'm honest! As suggested, social media needs to be hammered. That's the board, the players, and the fans, Twitter should be flooded with posts asking their followers to renew or join up To be fair, we have got a database which does tell us who has and who hasn't renewed their membership.
As per post above, we emailed everyone (that had an email address!) a couple of weeks ago with the link & request for them to renew.
The email to members that have just seen their membership expire is going out imminently - we've had a change of website provider recently, and we needed to ensure that was functioning properly in terms of signing up en masse before we went out with the various rally calls.
The database wasn't printed off for the CFU meeting - we can look at that, but it's probably quicker to actually write down the detail as opposed to checking through various pages of a printed out database.
We are hammering social media and are encouraging to retweet our CFU tweets.

Here’s a thought Jeff, why doesn’t the Club issue a reminder / appeal for new members on the OWS or Twitter? It appears that once again it is being stymied by a lack of communication from official sources. To be fair, one look at the CFU twitter account and you'll see that this has been the case certainly over the last couple of weeks. In fact we've been battering the message home! We've also put articles on the CFU site too. One will be on the official website shortly too, and we've been in the press too this last few days drumming it up.
An email is shortly going out to members that have just expired on May 31st - there is a grace period for renewals before you don't continue to be an active member. All those who were lapsed members going back to pre-2018 were emailed already a couple of weeks ago, and we've seen a good few sign up again.
So for those who haven't renewed yet, please do, and it's really easy to do - click here
Jeff
Thanks for the response Jeff but the CFU Twitter account only has a fraction of the followers the official Club one has. Not sure why the Club’s Twitter account is so precious but if we are serious about getting the message out there we really do need to start using it.

I don't think it's a case of it being precious - but you should see it being more active especially with regards to CFU & working group tweets being shared, which hopefully everyone will share / retweets too.
Plenty have been shared by the official twitter account, but that has been stepped up with immediate effect this week.
Thanks, Jeff
