Due to be released around 10am. I can’t see much being kept on, Hopefully Archer will want to stay and see out the next year of his contract also hoping James Jones will sign but I think that would have been yesterday so we’ll probs lose him.
James and Hannah to be transfer listed.
Fingers crossed, COYB.

I think I'm in the minority but I would like to see Akintunde stay. I think he would do well in the Conference North. Being a London lad though he may not want to stay up here to play sixth-tier football and might get fixed up with a Conference South club.
There are a few like Halls and Gough who I can see the merits of keeping, though I wouldn't be distraught if we didn't. The likes of Dawson, Rowe-Turner, White and (in my opinion) Mahon should be let go. Saying that, anyone kept on obviously has the managers' backing and should be given a fresh start.

From reading Dave Powell’s tweets, Roberts and Brown will be the only ones staying on.

I’d have kept Gough and Aki, but if Touray is achieveable then can see why not. Aki, can’t finish but has got ability

Released: Lucas Dawson Harry White Lathaniel Rowe-Turner Karl Cunningham Dominic Vose James Akintunde Andy Halls Jordan Gough
Departures: Ryan Astles (to Southport) Myles Anderson (to Hartlepool United) Tom Crawford (to Notts County)
Players who have been offered new contracts: James Jones
Contracted players for 2018/19: Matty Waters Jordan Archer Craig Mahon Ross Hannah Kingsley James Gary Roberts Nathan Brown
New signings: Matty Hughes (from Chorley)
Loans: Andy Firth has returned to Liverpool Shaun Hobson has returned to Bournemouth Ross Hannah has returned from Southport Kingsley James has returned from Barrow
All the best to everyone released, but especially Andy Halls, James Akintunde and Jordan Gough in particular who all put a shift in for us. I’d have released the rest anyway so it’s obvious that we are going to build a squad from scratch now. Good luck to Bernard and Jonno in their recruitment.

Surprised Vose didn't get offered anything I thought he'd already gone, to be honest. Didn't feature in the last couple of games.
I suppose players being released doesn't necessarily mean we didn't want them. There may have been a mutual agreement in some cases. Aki for example, I doubt we could promise him first team football and there are plenty of Conference South teams around London, so it's probably not worth the bother of contract negotiations for either party.

Great to see so many of them moved on. Can't actually believe some people are hankering after some of them. These players have badly let us down, some for more than one season. Their attitude is associated with previous managers and many of these snowflakes wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes with the new men. It does make you wonder where they actually think they will end up. Just needs Hannah and James moving on now, and hopefully even Mahon, then it will feel like a truly fresh start.

Made up the dross has gone. Hopefully further additions in the next few days and weeks.

Not too devastated about this. White is one of the worst players I've seen play for Chester, no exaggeration. Halls gets my respect for waiving his contract rights but he was an appalling full back, and at best a mediocre stop gap in centre midfield. Gough wasn't too bad a player, but I question the commitment to the cause when at Xmas time there was rumours of him being up town off his face, so quite happy to see him go. Still think there is a player in Dawson, but it went sour for him once Bignot started playing him on the wing and his confidence was absolutely shot after that. Just the name Rowe-Turner sends shivers down my spine - the man who admitted he came here just to keep fit. I doubt Vose wanted to stay around, sure he'll manage to find a southern based club in the Conference, but he gets my utmost respect for coming along and playing for expenses. As good a player he is, he doesn't quite strike me as a Bern and Johno type player. Aki I wouldn't have minded if he stays or goes - had a good attitude and he's a tidy footballer, but didn't score enough goals and he's had 3 seasons with us and probably needs a fresh start somewhere to kick on. Wouldn't surprise me to see him do well elsewhere.
The real challenge now is trying to shift Ross and Kingsley on. And do Bern and Johno really want to keep the other contracted players? Mahon was one of the best players in the Conference North when at Vauxhalls but not sure how sustainable his wages are. Waters just isn't good enough for me. Archer is someone who could really do well for us next season, and hopefully his wages shouldn't be too bad as he joined at a time when Bignot knew funds were tight, so surely we wouldn't have given a two year deal on silly money at that time?

Thank god Harry White and all the rest of that rubbish have gone! Start fresh now! Halls and Akintunde the only ones who deserve any sort of respect from us, the fans.

How anyone can call Dawson a bad player is beyond me, one of the best we've ever had. Got to be on a wind up. Awful player. No passion. No commitment. Didn’t want to know when the going got tough. Supposed to be creative yet we barely created a chance. Long over hit passes every week. So glad he’s gone.

Vose and Akintunde would have done a job for us next season. However, have they got other offers?
If Hobson fancies a game next season I would be happy to see him back.
As for Harry White, Rowe-Turner and Lucas Dawson good riddance!

Rowe-Turner is probably the worst left-back I’ve even seen at the club, replacing Carl Regan. If he can take any comfort from that, it’s that Regan somehow went on to have a decent career. I’m glad Dawson never played another minute for us after that idiotic red card against Torquay. Lousy attitude, thinks he’s better than he is. I’m not big on the practice of booing ex-players when they return, but he would deserve everything he got. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Southport next season. I don’t think White is quite as bad as some others seem to. He did go on a bit of a scoring spree around January, which is something nobody else in the team managed, and most of his former clubs seem to think he’s OK. He does look very oafish at times though, and his mistakes really stand out. Glad he’s gone.
Think the jury is still out on Waters, who has been a bit hit and miss. I'd like to see what he can do this season as he is still young, although not a baby at 20.
With Mahon, I honestly think there’s too much sentimentality involved and a parting of ways might do both us and him some good. It can’t be denied that he’s offered very little over the last three seasons, and while some of that is down to bad luck with injuries, it still comes down to what we’re getting for our money. I’d love to see him recapture his 2014 form, but I can’t see it and sadly I just think we’ll be in for another season of persistent niggling injuries and on-the-pitch rustiness.

Was thinking the same thing with Aki - probably wants to stay closer to his London roots. Halls would've been a great asset but other than those two the rest are probably about right. Wouldn't be surprised if Dawson ended up somewhere like Accrington where his talent would be appreciated.

Halls was an absolute disgrace until Christmas (worse than LRT seemed to be the general consensus back then) and Akintunde averaged 1 goal in 5 for us. Well done with our new management team. Clean sweep was exactly what was required.

I was so optimistic about this squad at the start of the season 🤪🤪
Despite having a soft spot for Aki and even Dawson, ( Yes I know, but if I was all there I’d probably not be supporting Chester), it really is the best to clear the decks.
Let’s start afresh have new faces playing in the blue and white and start to believe in the future again.
God I hope it does all workout....

I would haven't kept any of the players that have been released, glad to see the back of them.
As The LADS have already said "it was time for a big brush and sweep the decks clear"

How anyone can call Dawson a bad player is beyond me, one of the best we've ever had. Hi Lucas 👋🏼 He’s not Dawson, he just doesn’t understand that the ability to score goals doesn’t make up for 80% of passes going to the opposition, a shocking attitude & a complete lack of industry. Either that or he’s on a wind up.

I think they have got it bang on to be honest. I can see that in flashes Akintunde, Halls and yes even Dawson showed promise, Vose was decent on the ball, but shocking off it. A lazier player you've never seen. They all needed to go, a new broom and all that. Just hope we can get rid of some of the Nice Guy Jon baggage we are still left with off the wage bill. I fear we may not be able to do that though, and some of the "we have families to feed" brigade will be mainlining cash from us for another 12 months.
Also awaiting the announcement of which academy graduates have been offered next. Believe this will be Tuesday. Some good lads in the senior group there, very difficult decisions to have made.
