Need to keep him away from Gary!!!!!!!! I am not sure if your comment is a joke or if you are being serious but you do raise a valid point, I wish both Gary and George all the best in overcoming the issues they have had and hope they can kickstart their careers and move forward. I do hope the management team will be keeping a close eye on them and I do wonder what the club has in place for them regards support and counselling ? when as a club we find it hard to find a physio or doctor. I am all for giving anyone a second chance but with addiction and mental health issues the right support network will need to be in place for them so they can move forward, without it they could slip backwards very easy. What you have said is correct. I would also add that the fans have a duty to help these players as well. I remember some fans by me giving Alabi stick a few years ago and his head literally went down. The support Roberts received last season was superb and probably the reason as to why he played so well. I think Roberts has found his "home" now so not worried about him. He will thrive being a senior member of the squad and hopefully he will be nothing but a positive influence on Green. Just need some big pacy strikers now.

We got 20k for Jordan Archer. I would assume that this is a re-investment of some of that. If so, I have no problem - seems sensible. Just like when PL teams sell players, they re-invest the profits in replacements. Yep, if we're living within our means with no debts to our name then, as a fan owned club, we absolutely have to put at least some of the money generated from player sales back in to the team. “We’ve had to pay a small fee to Nuneaton, but he has come here on less wages than he was on at Nuneaton, so it shows he’s got the drive to want to do it." - Jonno A small fee and he's come here on a lesser wage. Not the first to do so this summer. www.chesterstandard.co.uk/news/16361432.display/

I agree the fans will have a big part to play and hope they give them all the suport they need, I often feel that clubs have no idea how to support players with addiction and mental health issues and thats why they bounce from club to club. Clubs signs these players and are fine when things are going well but as soon as they need support they fail to spot the signs and then just offload them, if clubs sign players with these issues they need to take responsibility and have a support network in place. Just my observation and opinion. All the best Gary and George you have my support

Just heard a snippet on Radio city 2 news about George and his problems which really concerns me that they are still ongoing to some extent and going by conversations on the Harry Mac on saturday it seems that im not alone and the back strain may be a cover.if they are the club should qaush any speculation so rumours can be put to bed and the guy given the peace and time to recover fully

I think a major weakness of this club over the past few seasons is that fans were never kept informed of a player's progress when injured. It is like the Bermuda Triangle for injured players. I saw George at the game on Saturday but didn't see him take part in the warm up, as he did in previous games.

Whilst I understand that rumours will circulate, I really don't think his own fans discussing whether the back injury is a cover up is going to help him?
George should feel nothing but 100% supported by those supporters of his club who post on here. We should be part of his support network, whether his demons still haunt him or not.
Really, really looking forward to seeing him on the pitch in the blue and white as soon as he is fit and ready.

I agree with Billy w and nwas here , the club should be open and honest on progress of long term injuries to quash speculation ( I seem to remember in the past we have had a physio update in match day programmes) and if the demons are still there and with such a condition I should imagine that they are never far away we should be told so and everything will be crystal clear so that we can show our support but to hear his name being mentioned in the same breath as Yantoro weas most disheartening.

At Fridays snr blues meeting the mangers confirmed that George was having a MRI scan on his back supported by the F.A. , assumed this meant paid for by thr f.a.
They suspect its possibly sciatica and MRI scan will determine this, as they have constantly told press this season is a marathon not a sprint and no pressure will be put on any players not 100% fit to turn out at this stage of the season.
George was in the east stand Saturday with what looked like some of his family, he looked in good shape and in a happy mood watching the match, looked like to me he is eager to get out on the pitch.

Clearly the lad reads this message board and I find the whole thread a bit embarrassing if i’m honest.

We spoke to him before the game on Saturday and it's a sciatica problem he's got which he's having injections for to see they will help the problem. I must say he's a nice and genuine lad and he really can't wait to start playing for us and he actually thanked us for taking time to talk to him

This is indeed the case. He's having a precautionary scan any day now and we'll then hopefully see him back on the pitch at the first opportunity. The days of cover ups have passed believe me! Thanks Jeff

No risk policy with this injury is right course of action. Rather wait a few weeks for a fully fit George to make a proper impact than have him in and out with niggling recurrence. Good look George looking forward to you having a real positive influence on the pitch.

Got to be honest, this place drives me nuts at times, don't quite understand why people need there to be alterior motives to everything and anything they hear. The club have said he is having a scan, yet the "rumour" on the Harry Mac says different well that must be true then 😂 I believe George is having an MRI scan for a back problem, possibly Sciatica, which if true I wish him the best luck in the world, as having lived with a family member who had this and degenerative disc disorder I know just how draining painful and downright frustrating it can be. It's not a now and then pain it's constant
All the best George, stay strong mate and hopefully we will see you in the Blue and White very soon COYB

As someone who had suffered with Sciatica to the point of corrective surgery I can fully understand what he is going through (As can many others) Good luck with the scan George and hope all is well soon.

It does puzzle me when people speculate on something, then complain that the club isn’t addressing speculation.
There’s a simple solution - stop speculating! Or if you have a nagging concern, drop the club a message. At least give the club a chance to respond before you go public with the conclusion you’ve jumped to.
Wish George well and hope to see him in action soon.

At least then you know who to take with a pinch of salt.

Speaking to a Tranmere fan (yes they mentioned Wembley and that sight Norwood about 325 times in the conversation) about Green and he reckons if Turkish and Tommy get him firing on all cylinders then he will win us the league. Have to say I'm looking forward to seeing him play.
