I see they managed to get only their 2nd point of the season at the weekend with a 1-1 draw with Huntly almost amazing considering they have greater defensive problems than we've had 96 goals conceded in 19 games so I suppose 1-1 is a resounding result

Someone needs to arrange a friendly between them at Vale of Leithen of the Lowland League, whose goal difference is -134!

So far 26 defeats and 3 draws. All five are at home with the last three against some of the weaker clubs so they have an outside chance. Title being fought out between Fraserburgh and Buckie Thistle, Brechin City now destined for a second season outside the SFL. Fraserburgh strong favourites as victories in their remaining two home matches will clinch the title.

Fort William are playing all their "Home" games away this season due to their pitch not meeting minimum quality requirements of the Highland League.

Scotland would make a great pre-season tour if we were to do one in the UK again, some good little grounds with fantastic views in the summer.
Would probably attract a fair amount of Chester fans on the beers for the week

Fort William did at least outperform the bottom side in the Lowland League, Vale of Leithen, mustering seven points to their five and keeping their goal difference below, or should that be above, -100.
The Scottish Wooden Spoon showdown between Fort William and Vale of Leithen really needs to happen!

Potential trouble on the horizon… for possibly the first time ever, the Highland League have introduced a relegation system whereby the bottom team faces off in a two-legged match against the winner of the inter-divisional playoffs from the division below.
Having unsurprisingly finished at the foot of the table, the Fort enter into the first leg of the playoff on Saturday against a team called - get this - Banks O’Dee! In spite of our geographical connections to their opponents, I’m sure I speak for us all when I say all the best to our friends in amber - not least because it’ll be a lot harder to keep up-to-date with their results should they go down. Hopefully their improved recent form will be enough to see them over the line.

Hopefully their improved recent form will be enough to see them over the line. I would fear the worst. Clubs in the Junior Leagues are often much stronger than Highland League clubs for a number of reasons. Fort William have brought in a number of new players recently and have certainly improved. For example they lost 10-0 to Deveronvale earlier in the season but were unlucky to lose 2-1 last week. Having said that Banks O’Dee will start hot favourites. In their first ever Scottish Cup tie in 2008 they beat Fort William 10-0 !

Unfortunately pulled out of the playoff with Banks o Dee and relinquished their Highland league place You fear for their future really. That said if there were to swap leagues with Banks O'Dee it may mean a little less travelling for them with there being no trips to the far north like Wick and Brora.

Sad news. If this play-off is here to stay then other perennial strugglers such as Lossiemouth and Strathspey are probably also living on borrowed time in the Highland League.

On the subject of Scottish football, I've taken an interest in Arbroath recently. Part-time and no sugar daddy as far as I can see, but they were unlucky to miss out on the Scottish Championship title and could still go up to the SPL via the playoffs.

Been a while since any posts in here about them but pleasantly surprised to see Fort William sitting second in the North Caledonian League, after defeating Bonar Bridge 8-0 at Claggan Park last Saturday.

Been a while since any posts in here about them but pleasantly surprised to see Fort William sitting second in the North Caledonian League, after defeating Bonar Bridge 8-0 at Claggan Park last Saturday. Bonar Bridge seem to be emulating Fort William in that league. Just three points to their name and a goal difference of -103.
Has anyone noticed that Banks O'Dee, who replaced Fort William in the Highland League, were deducted 24 points this season for a player registration error? I always think surely the league should know after one game if a team has fielded an ineligible player and it shouldn't drag on so long. They're still nowhere near the bottom though.
