I saw Jimmy Humes score a hat trick against the Goats in a 6-1 win. Has any other Chester player done that?

Excellent additions and long over due , although moving forward it would be great to see players who played post 1980’s have more involvement in the FPA as this may well appeal to those supporters under 40. Do we know if these players from the last 30 plus years are ever invited on match days in the same way as the team mates of current FPA committee seem to be?.

I suppose of the Famous Five Jimmy Humes is the least heralded and talked about.
Well done Hughie and Jimmy.

Obviously we have had hundreds (thousands?) of former players going right up to 2018. Be good to see some 90s and 00s players get involved as some of us will be more familiar with them.

Almost half of the Hall of Fame already includes a number of players from those decades Daryl Clare, Graham Barrow, Iain Jenkins, Peter Jackson, Stuart Rimmer, Graham Abel and since reformation Neil Young, Michael Wilde and George Horan. Somewhat surprised that Alan Oakes isn't on the list yet given he led us to our highest ever finish in the football league (5th in Div.3)as well as taking us to the last 16 of the FA cup in 76/77 and 79/80 and winning the Debenhams Cup in '77. Undoubtedly the best 7 years I, and many others had as a Chester fan!!

Astounded that Marcus Bignot is not in the hall of fame. The board need to pull their socks up.

Even so, I'd agree that he should be inducted in absentia.

Happy days watching the famous five bang in goals for fun. Particularly remember the lads "bending over backwards" to make sure that Hugh Ryden got his "required" two goals in the final match of the season. Another magical moment was seeing Jimmy Humes scoring at Old Trafford to give us a half time lead against Man Utd in the FA Cup. Second half goals from Albert Kinsey (later of Wrexham) who took the place of the injured Denis Law, and an offside George Best goal saw United squeeze through.

An offside goal from George Best always makes me smile,i was at the match as a 8 year old lad with my grandad and dad,my dad is 89 and still everytime the name George Best is ever mentioned instead of saying what a great player he was,it's always he scored an offside goal against us he was miles offside disgraceful.I was to young to understand.

I was 14 when a group of us from Jones newsagent were treated by Mr Jones the shopkeeper to that match. I got lost from the group and as I queued had a police horse tread on my foot. Excruciatingly painful. I ended up in the home end and was too scared to cheer when we scored.

I understand Mark Wright is coming back to the Deva this month.
Half time on-pitch presentation inducting him into the Hall of Fame?
It's the least the guy deserves.

Apparently it’s to coach some kids but I agree - he should be high on the list to be the next Hall of Famer for his achievement in saving us from relegation from the Conference in his first half-season to winning a return to the Football League in his second full season. Always welcomed back to the Deva in my eyes.

Hall of Fame should be for services to our football club IMO.

Said it before ages ago that I’d love to see banners at each end of the stands like at Bournemouth showing images of great players of old, seeing these would evoke pride and passion in our history to all supporters and show the young the heritage Tried to attach images with little success.

Hall of Fame should be for services to our football club IMO. Those ‘services’ included being a part of the Vaughan-backed Danish consortium that went into direct competition with CFU for the Deva Stadium lease. He could have ended football in Chester.

Hall of Fame should be for services to our football club IMO. But wasn't Mark Wright also involved in the "sale" of the club to those Norwegian fantasists at the time. I am sure i remember his ugly face in a photo with the Vaughans "brokering" the deal, perhaps someone could find a link to the photo? I respect your opinion, i just dont agree with it.

It may never happen, but he's still one of our best ever managers. He brought us a league championship and kept us up when we looked lost.

Well the Danish rather than Norwegians anyway. One of the least friendly Chester managers I have ever come across also. May have taken us up that year but he was also responsible for some very dour football too in other seasons. He was happy to jump into bed with the wrong crowd and certainly wouldn't get my vote if it came in front of me to respond to. Jeff
