Rumours are that Southport's playing budget was £825,000.00 for 18/19. Some players may need to take a pay cut if they are thinking of coming here. That figure makes McCarthy's achievements in 18/19 all the more spectacular. I'd believe that, it was 650k at the start of the season. I wonder what Leamington Spa's (who finished above the Sandgrounders) budget was in comparison? The fact that the likes of Jordan Hulme are going to be paid over £40 k (appearance and goals bonus) a year makes you question the longevity of some of these clubs based on their spending. With the likes of Bolton, Bury, Tranmere, Gateshead and Ebbsfleet in financial crisis it should be a warning to the likes of Southport and Altrincham not to overspend. In fact, they are doing the complete opposite.

As long as they’re not taking out loans to pay for it then they are fine.

George Green has announced he's off. Southport will be my first guess.

Boston United manager Craig Elliot has confirmed the club will switch training next season from a facility based outside of Mansfield to the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster. Elliot believes that the improved facilities will help the club to compete especially against full time clubs. Extolling the benefits of the move Elliot said it would give the club, " A lot better facilities for the football side and also better links, Doncaster gives you a clear base where I can attract people, it’s near major roads and motorways. At Doncaster I’m hoping it generates a better team spirit, there are restaurants, coffee places, things like that. We can socialise together rather than leave straight after training."

In other words, Boston is in the back of beyond and no one wants to go there. The Barrow of the East.

Not a transfer rumour but I think we should be looking at Callum Saunders at Nantwich. They've Just missed out in the play offs so good chance he'll want to move up the ladder. 23 year old striker.

Not sure if we still hold any interest but he's hit some form towards the end of the season, think he's ended the season with 16 goals.

Bignot had a couple of spells playing for Kidderminster which probably helps his prospects of landing the job a bit more than if he was a total outsider.

Suit Bignot being midlands based I think? But not Kidderminster. Same as Grimsby, Chester and almost relegated Guiseley.

I went to a random game, Gainsborough vs Nantwich and he didn’t actually start, I feel like he’s been hit and miss but got a fair goals tally. I just don’t know if we need hit and miss or if we need a constant 7/10 performer like Storforth in all areas of the pitch. I don’t think it takes more than being consistent and solid to get into the playoffs in this division. Football would be nice, but I’d take 1-0s and promotion race any day.
