I personally would argue that Grand has been our best defender this season over all. Starts a lot of moves, vital goals, often gets the ball moving forward quicker than our midfield, largely good in the air, gives it his all. Won't comment on him and Waters "needing shipping out" as it's ridiculous the idea they can just be replaced my the conveyor belt of players we have waiting desperate to play for us for free.

No sign of a keeper coming in for Saturday then ? I'm surprised that there hasn't been a signing yet. If Griffiths makes an error earlydoors then I can see the atmosphere turning toxic. He needs to be taken out of the firing line, not just for the club's sake but also for his own. I worry about this too, and would urge everyone to remember he isn't picking himself and can only do what his managers tell him to. Should he make a mistake on Saturday or even not collect a cross in a crowded area, he's not going to get any more confident if the crowd turns on him. The only thing we can do is encourage him and hope he does a good job. I can imagine a fair few sarcastic cheers if he does routine stuff well which will also not help. Lets try and back the players during the 90 match.

I would like to see Theo given a game 98% of the fanbase would. Hasn't featured for Mossley since incurring a hand injury at the end of January.

Russ Griffiths has joined Telford on Loan until the end of the Season
24 Hour recall if needed

He definitely needs more game time to get his confidence levels up, so I hope this means that Louis Gray will extend his stay here until the end of the season too. Russ has had some good spells in patches, but he’s reverted to making silly errors lately so a spell at a fellow club in this league may do him well. Good luck Russ!

It's the game time which he has had loads of which has eroded his confidence due to frequent mistakes! To be honest he's been pretty disappointing. Looks the part, big lad etc and has made a few decent saves. Don't ever really remember coming home and thinking Griffiths was really good today. He also instilled absolutely no confidence in his defence. They didn't trust him or rate him in the slightest. Not sure they even liked him much as well - remember when he was down for ages after conceding a goal at home and no-one went to see if he was ok? Interesting decision from the duo here. After sticking with Shenton relentlessly last season, they've shipped Russ out pretty quick - they must be confident that Louis Gray is an upgrade and that they can keep him for the rest of the season. Barring an emergency don't think Griffith will ever play for us again.

I agree with everything else you say though.

What I find odd with Griffiths is that in pre-season he was vocal, he was bossing the defence, he looked confident. I remember commenting on it to a mate of mine who supports Motherwell, I’d asked him if Griff was any good so then gave him my opinion after a couple of the pre-season games. Where did that aspect of his game go?
