I listened to the broadcast of the meeting and was very impressed by the Councillor's responses Can anybody enlighten me on the financial implications for the Trust, as set out below?
My understanding is that the Trust will be the leaseholder for the development, in which case will it be a repair and maintenance lease, as is the case with the Bumpers Lane Stadium. If this is how the lease is structured, can the Trust as leaseholders have ongoing long term liabilities.
As an associate of the leaseholder, will the Football Club pay the usual commercial rates for their use of the facilities.
Who will employ the staff to run the centre, to take the bookings etc, collect the money and pay the bills and keep the place clean and tidy
I am sure that these points have been considered and maybe published but I have not seen these details.

Has there been any update on timescales for this, can’t seem to find any after the planning application was agreed. Would be great if it was sorted before preseason for all of our teams and the local community but maybe that’s wishful thinking.
Sounds like our fist team have been training all over the place during lockdown, I’m sure things like that impact on players committing long term and also player recruitment. Would be great with a big gap between now and next season if the community trust could let us know if we can be doing anything in the meantime to help.

Got my letter with full planning approval on it yesterday off CWAC funnily enough. Would be something really positive even to see the sign and site going up. Im sure Jim will update on the meeting next Thursday.

Noticed the council forgot to redact the previously anonymous naysayer’s name and address from their most recent correspondence.

Jim Green and his team have done an unbelievable job sourcing this funding. The board and the community trust are fantastic at what they do and this will genuinely transform the club. We will now have a genuine footprint in the community which will grow our fanbase and prove a quality training facility for all of our teams. Get it badged up and make sure everyone who attends knows who we are and what we can offer them. Feels so much better that it is our leaders and fellow fans that have made this happen. Can’t wait for next season. we have an established and motivated management team supported by a brilliant and innovative board. Proud Blue tonight

Fantastic news. Do I have it right that we need another half a million to fully fund this project? I seem to remember the total cost of the protect is £1.6m and we are now on just shy of £1.1m?

A little bit of good news in these post-apocalyptic two losses times, the site fencing has gone up around the KGV site and there is a JCB on site. Looks like work is about to commence...

Yep, tremendous work by the Community Trust. Accessing grant funding for this facility that was available for this co-operative not for profit charity. We wouldnt have attracted the money, or secured the land, if we were business man owned.

This is great news! Engaging with the community and providing facilities to aid youth development is our best chance to uncover the next generation of talent which may in turn support the club financially.

Absolutely brilliant news. This is a massive boost for the club and for the city and I'm looking forward to watching some games down there. Well done to all concerned and those that have worked tirelessly to get this project off the ground and to this stage so far.

Does anyone know if the first team be able to train at the new facility? If I recall, this was one of the points mentioned when the project was first launched. I think we will be using it for training which should save us a bit.

Jim will probably set us right, but I think the first team will benefit more from the second phase, especially if we go full time at some point hopefully. That will be using the two refurbished turf pitches on the other side.
Think we’ll be playing second fiddle on the 3G floodlit pitch (first phase).

The 3G has protected community usage at evenings and weekends (which includes the Community Trust, CFC Women and CFC Academy). It is available for the first team during the day. At the moment we train two evening and one morning so it does enable us to refer to full time (four mornings) when we want to and will provide significant cost savings on our current spend. Grass pitch works haven’t started yet but when these are completed, these would also be available for the first team during the day.

Top work on the KGV Jim. Is there any truth in the rumour that Blacon Council (Barwicks ward) are looking to get the changing rooms listed building status?
