They had a great 6-0 win in their first match of the season today at the Deva, decent showing.

Just saw them unluckily lose 2-1 at West Kirby on a horribly windy evening, or "an evening" as we call it in West Kirby.
We played into the wind second half. Hard to assess the quality in those conditions, plus a bobbly pitch and no floodlights so pretty dark by the end. It's just as well they changed the rules so that a goal kick doesn't have to leave the penalty area, as our keeper literally couldn't kick it that far because of the wind!
Will try and get to a home game.

The club really should be giving more publicity and news about the Women's team.

Ashville isn't even a place! It's just the name of a road in Wallasey where the founders of the club lived.

Another Wallasey fact is that a member of the band the Boo Radleys once lived on Radley Road in the town.

Congratulations to Chester FC Women on their 5-0 victory over Ashville at the Deva this afternoon. Despite Chester dominating the match in the first half the score was 0-0 at half time but the second half proved a much better reflection of the balance of play.

I attended both of the games this afternoon which were packed with goals. In the early kick off our women’s under-18’s hammered Vale Juniors Congleton Ladies Under-18’s 20-0 (yes, twenty!) in a one-sided affair. The seniors then won emphatically in the second match as they thrashed Ashville Ladies 5-0 to secure their spot in the next round of the Cheshire County Cup. After a slow first half the floodgates soon opened in the second as the goals flew in. An enjoyable afternoon on the whole and a very good advertisement for women’s football.
